Getting yourself pumped

I really want to start riding park, but I can't get myself psyched up most of the time to actually try anything, plus I never absorb impact enough on my roll outs, so I just bounce and drop.

Any suggestions?
 
off season practice on a tramp or water ramps helps a lot so you can learn a trick before actually taking it to snow. also try to visualize doing the trick and sticking it before you get to throw. im also a fan of good music, so try puting on your favorite song to get you amped. also ask for an invite to the trick tips cult.
 
when your at the park before you hit some jump, wait for some good kids to go before you, and watch them, then you will get pretty pumped.
 
Practice. As you get more comfortable throwing the trick, you'll get more comfortable in the air and that will (hopefully) lead to more comfort landing, especially once you know you can stick it.

u can´t get more pumped than listening to that song daaaamn loud.. i was way too pumped last year, overshooted pretty bad and ended up stayin in hospital for a week.. well season was over at february so watch out how much "u´re getting yourself pumped"
 
clearing the jump right always helps with landing. just focus on not falling after you land. if you think you are going to fall, try to stay up, dont just flop over. i used to do that a lot, i would just sketch out and fall if i was just a little bit off balance. a wide stance will help too

music and a barkyard set up. then take ur music and ur new skills to the hill. as for jumps... just say fuck it, turn up ur tunes and huck
 
i dont think backyard relates to park skiing that much cause im terrible at backyard stuff , but i get to the mtn and its differnt, just put on your park playlist, blaze 1 and nothing else matters except for that 270 on or cab5
 
think any other sport, athletic stance, its just air awareness, if just gotta get a feeling of how to keep yourself level and how to get things to come to you, good luck throw down man
 
try not to puss out because other people are around and you are afraid of falling in front of them. i had a friend that used to do that alot, but you just have to realize that everyone falls, and everyone has to learn, and its not a big deal.
 
recently i have just been getting pumped becasue friday is goign to be my first day back....just thinking about all my new gear and skiing gets me pumped for daysssss
 
just know that if you dont try something this year it will just piss you off more and more until you try it.
 
my advice... go faster and start landing things.

listen to all this good advice for prejumping. but when you are at the lip, dont chicken out, just throw the rotation like youve practiced. then when in the air follow rotations by always looking over your shoulder till you spot the landing. if you dont sometimes yoour spins will freeze midair or you will got all out of wack and most likely die

First day of park riding today I pulled a disaster on a 16 foot to 16 foot gap box second try plus a lofty 180 about 20 feet!

whenever there are kids that are alot better than me around i always seem to try more stuff. not really to show off, but i just feel like a puss if i just slide the rail to 270 out, when these kids are like pretlzing or something

Cocaine makes skiing no fun. I would personally opt for the /or alcohal option. maybe even some vicodin and weed with it. cocaine doesnt help.
 
start small, and slowly build up, like once you are comfortable w/ something, like a 20' table, step it up a little to a 30'...dont go straight to the 60' or you will wreck yourself
 
Music always pumps me up.Put a good song on that you feel that gets you pumped.Don't think and just go for it.
 
i think the most important thing to realize is, you don't learn stylee 450's on in a day. I mean, the reason you dont feel comfortable on rails probly isn't cuz you're doing something wrong, its probly cuz you haven't done it that much. Just go skiing a lot, you'll find your way.
 
How I get pumped:

Watch a ski movie the night before or the morning of my skiing.

Listen to some music that gets me pumped on the way to the hill with a car full of friends.

listen to "rock the 40 oz" by leftover crack as i pull into the parking lot.

rip with my friends, have fun, and play games like horse. just have fun and don't ski to impress people.
