Getting to Big Bear from LA

If I flew into LAX or Ontario Airport what is the best method of transportation to Big Bear? Can anyone hook it up with some info as to van companies or something that make the trip and charge a descent fair. Thanks

your best bet would be to fly in to Ontario, since LAX is super far away. Once at Ontario there are two alternatives. You can take the Super Shuttle to Big Bear directly, but I heard that's pricey. Or, you can take the Super Shuttle or any other form of transportation to the Metrolink station. Then take the metrolink all the way into San Bernardino Station. Once there, there ask the guard where the "MARTA" bus stops. The MARTA will take you up the mountain for $5 and will drop you off in the Vons parking lot. From there, you can take another MARTA bus to Bear.

renting a car is worth it, the drive up the mountains is rad and then you can shoot up to mammoth. and you can always live in it.

Wickes! going to southern california!! WOOOHOO!. Too bad I wont be there. Fly to Ontario broo. Take Ted from Denver to Ontario airpewrt for dirt cheap. After that I dont know what you should do. That metrolink to marta idea is insane. So many dog and pony transportation companies involved in that catastrophic itenerary.

neither are me and my friend but we rented one in LAX when we went to mountain high over winter break. go to dollar rental, they'll hook it up. better to reserve in advance though.
