Getting the balls to hit big jumps

Just go for it.

If you eat it once or twice, you will realize it doesn't hurt too bad, and you will be more confident. As long as you don't kill yourself on the first two..
 
its like dropping in on a skateboard. you do it once and its scary, the rest of the time after that it is easy.
 
sometimes when I go to do big jumps or try new tricks I know I will probably biff, but it takes time, just work your way up
 
Do the jump straight a couple of times and get comfortable with it before starting to spin. To combat the fear factor, psyching yourself up with some good tunes can help...
 
just think how supercool this is.

hitting a 50 footer, wich is the biggest i ve hit is a realy cool feeling.

spinning a 3 or sw 1 is realy easy.

u can add a grab you have all the time for it.

if all that have been said on this thread doesnt work, then just invite a pretty girl on the park with you.

when u ll see that jump and she ll says " how that s a big one" then show her who s the king.

you wont have anytime to think about what could go wrong etc.. u ll just get plenty of speed and lay dowm a massive 3 safety. (wich is a recommended grab on first hit cause it will keep you balanced )

then come back here and tell us how stoked you are cose u scored and u got a 3 on big jump.
 
i just can't get the balls either...

psht seriously though, i know what you mean. i get mad paranoid before i hit stuff, but i have friends who just huck themselves around and i really think they fall less because of it. because i'm so tense, i think it hurts more solely on that reason. i don't set dates for myself, or plan to have stuff accomplished by certain periods of time. the way it usually works is that i get to the mountain and just feel in the mood to hit shit, then it goes better. don't force yourself if you're not ready but don't hang around forever waiting for the perfect moment.
 
what i do is watch a skier hit it once...start where they start, and on the first hit do a 180...i dont always land, but it gets the mind set of either...that dont hurt that bad, or that wasnt that scary...then i work my way up to bigger spins...
 
first run i see how much speed i need for the jump

next run i go for it and if i fall i fall

just got to get used to the jump and go for it

first time you get it you can pretty much do it everytime
 
i have the secret for hitting big cliffs. First, scout it from the bottom and figure out how much speed you need. When you get to the top, just charge straight off the lip without stopping. Its way less scary when you dont know how big it looks from the top
 
im still even workin on smaller kickers, but like i was talkin to some guy today and we were talkin about how wen u wanna try somethin, its pretty intimidating. but once u finally get the balls to try it a first time, then uve gone over a huge milestone, and its just a matter or gettin it down from there. so try it once, be careful, and keep tryin again. ull feel better after trying. i know ur feeling
