I know this is sort of a dumb thread but i still want to know this.Im 14 and i want to get sposored maybe next year and i want to know what sort of tricks you should know before u can.I live in a small town with a pretty samll hill.our hill has only had a park for a few years but i think i am ok in the park.and big mountain im not to bad at ether.eny feed back would be great thx.
 
make sure you can do thug airs, zero kangs, and at least a truck driver 5, and have decent rail skills. now incorporate them into a big name contest, win. and sponsorship is yours.
 
The best way is to win or place well in comps. And that will tell you what kind of tricks you need to be able to do.
 
rules of getting sponsored.

1. you must be able to spell it SPONSORED correctly.

2. if you are making a thread on getting sponsored you aren't ready for one

my advice. go to your local shop and ask them.
 
Truthfully, its more about how you will rep the product. Say you live in texas, but you can do some cool shit and you do comps (which texas doesnt have but just hypothetically here) you will be repping something to a state that never gets this shit. It all depends on where you live and what comps you do.
 
who gives a shit about being sponsored, if you spend all your time worrying about that you wont have as much fun. Go out there chill with your friends and have a killer time in the process. If you only focus on being pro and sponsored some day it ruins the fun. dont make it your goal in skiing, make fun your goal.
 
hmm i dont know is this has ever crossed your mind but it could be an old old thing that the old romanes used to call a joke. oh and connor u have no chance in hell of getting sponcered..oh wait no tribute u will take u!
 
Yeah i hate it when people are like OMG STOP TRYING TO BE SPONSORED AND JUST SKI!! Fuck dude, if you have the skill why not get free shit?
 
from what i learned every shop, company etc. has different deffinitions for a sponserable skier some what a switch 10 holdin the grab all the way, and the shop in my town will sponser u if uve been skiing only one year but make a good sponsership resume...so pretty much this is a universal question but heres a n easier answer

1.film

2.edit using only very best shots, try to keep it short and sweet

3.make a good resume including as much stuff about u as possible

4. send that shit everywere and wait
 
you hate it? I'm realistically speaking. 1 out of 50 skiers is lucky to get sponsored. But it shouldnt be your main focus of skiing. I can see people wanting to be that good to get free stuff. But most people seem like going pro and being sponsored is the main goal. When in the end most peoples chances of getting to that level are super low. Props if they get there. But why should they go ski, let that be the focus and not think about anything else and then not get sponsored? It would completely suck. The biggest thing half the people are saying when they tell kids to have fun and not worry about it is because thats what it should be about, and so your not let down if you dont get to that level. If you get there having fun, props. My main concern is that the right attitude is presnt while getting there.

Its not even close to my main focus I am just seeing what you need to know in order to get sponsored.Now I look at u and i think that your main focus is not to get sponsored for some reason.I mean whats the down side of getting free stuff
 
yea this is the best part about it in my opinion. probably 90 percent of everything i buy is product from a skiing company and i would save so much more money if i was sponsored
 
if you do a lot of comps and have good results then you dont really need much in your video. i think it would be easier to start out small with a shop sponsor first and then have them introduce you to companies or just work your way up from there. if you cant spin switch 9's or 10's just show them how good you are with other smaller spins with different kinds of grabs and unnatural and stuff, but youre kind of young which will also help
 
i think there have been people on this site that have been seen by a rep for any company, and got hooked up for killing it all over the mountain.
