Ski-hobo's correct. Get some flouro wax in the right temp. and hotwax every night before you go skiing. Its no big deal, just get your self an iron {one for ironing clothes like your mom uses} from a second hand store for about 2$ or go to a cheap department store and get the cheapest one w/ a temp. setting should be 15$-20$.Get a metal scraper.Put skis on a table or bench w/ something thicker than the height of your binding{a shoebox or something}under the tips+ tails, bases up so your skis sit flat.Plug in iron on low heat so the wax melts but doesn't smoke.Hold iron above ski w/ pointed end, pointed at the base, press wax against bottom of iron and watch wax drip off of the point onto your base.Go tip to tail dripping wax till there's enough that when you iron it into the base ,the iron won't touch the actual base material, but just remelt the wax in an even coat covering the entire base. When your ironing always keep it moving so you dont over heat any one area of your base or you'll fuck up your ski.Let wax completely cool till it's hard and then scrape off,tip to tail w/ scraper. You can stop there or you can structure the base by brushing it w/ a nylon brush or a 3M pad. Done.Once you figure this out ,you will be FAST, always.
