But even if we do eventually move and have our products made in the same factory as Spyder that does not mean the outerwear has to be anything remotely close to what Spyder is making. Different designers, material sourcing, construction, etc. Factories make what you ask them to make with what you give them to make it with.

There are no more than 5 comments in this thread talking about issues with our products. The vast majority of comments have shown how we have worked very hard to solve our customer service issues that were a huge problem.

You haven’t heard about people talking about Spyder products falling apart because people aren’t talking about Spyder products.

No shade to Spyder and their products. But they don’t, for better or worse, get talked about nearly as often on Newschoolers as Saga does.

We are using Spyder as a resource. But the current products Saga has available are made in a separate factory. Please understand that product is produced 6 months to a year ahead of release to the public. I apologize if my previous comment wasn’t clear.

The Anomie pant is that classic cargo with the wide leg and baggy fit. I'll be a loyal customer as long as those pants are still in the line up. Companies go through difficulties and struggle sometimes. The virus response has been especially difficult for small businesses. If Saga signed on with a larger parent co. to right the ship I have no problem with it. They have always been upfront and honest about their issues along the way. See Revision for the flip side of that coin.

The reason the fit of some of our products have slid to the less baggy side of the spectrum is primarily because the annual returns due to sizing issues was becoming a real problem as we increased in brand size. When we were only selling a few hundred jackets and pants a year it wasn't much trouble. But as we scaled up to selling several thousand, and more sizes, the number of returns we were receiving because of sizing issues became unmanageable. We were seeing the amount of work that not only went into processing the returns but also in having to create the incredibly detailed size and fit guides was being outweighed by the number of people that were looking for a more reserved(or consistent and easily understandable) fit.

We've discussed trying to produce a small collection of products that are more like the old baggier fit, but it just hasn't happened for one reason or another. Maybe in the coming seasons, we can look at this project again now that we are working into a more stable financial and production system.

We’re not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

That’s awesome your saga gear has been holding up, wish I could say the same but it’s whatever, I went to Dakine bibs and they lasted great for a couple seasons but now I have a pair of 686’s that I’m excited to try.

I would definitely argue you should never base anything off a few kids on NS but this issue affected EVERYONE who bought saga gear. I noticed it all over here and even on their insta as many people were commenting asking for answers and never got any, which would infuriate me, if a company is still taking time to post and keep a social media presence they should at least be able to answer people’s questions. The whole thing stunk of Revision vibes and honestly I’m glad people eventually got their stuff that they bought a year ago.

To fully answer this and explain what the problems were that caused these issues would require me to throw people under the bus and that’s now how Saga operates.

Decisions were made and we did everything we could with what we had in order to survive.

I am confident in saying that if you message any of the people that said they had problems receiving our gear in the past they will tell you that they have since been contacted by someone from Saga and the problem was resolved.

I understand wanting to hold our feet to the fire. I actually appreciate it. Without someone holding a brand accountable they can run off the rails and lose touch.

This comment is rife with misinformation. The year that product delivery was delayed many months wasn’t because jackets, pants or even pullovers weren’t delivered to pre order customers. It was accessories. I’m not saying this makes it right, I just want to point out an inaccuracy.

Next, we were still in Utah for the year after this problem occurred.

Lastly, in response to your “not helping anyone”, I would like you to rewatch some of your favorite skiers web edits and video segments over the last decade and take a look at what outerwear they’re wearing. I’m speaking about the skiers that were dropped by their outerwear sponsors or their sponsors went out of business. We’ve never publicized this but we’ve always offered jackets and pants to these skiers when they needed a jacket or pair of pants. This isn’t a statement to say we’re better than other brands. It is just a statement to prove our commitment over the years to skiing and the skiers that are passionate about their craft.

The core of the company packed up everything from Utah during the spring summer of 2019(there are multiple NS thread posts and emails to customers about this) and moved to Boulder to have the support of a larger corporate structure.

Spyder is also under the same parent company.

Saga is not Spyder. The same way that Line is not K2.

The issues with customer service and delivery during the 17/18 and 18/19 seasons were not because of employees but because of financial problems. As others have said in this thread shipping and customer service over that 19/20 season have been smooth. We fixed that.

Saga has been quiet this summer because the parent company furloughed the 4 employees Saga has and we weren’t allowed to do any work relating to the brand. Furlough ended recently and the core of the company is back. We’re breaking off the furlough dust. We have discussed everything that has and will happen with Saga with our team riders and will be making more information public in the coming weeks.
