Getting rid of rail stickyness?

the rail we used today we got at a metal recycle center for 2 bucks. we waxed it big time and everything, but when we do it there is a ton of friction and i catch my edges a ton on it. Is there a way to just smooth out a rail and make it consistent? it's got crap in the metal and or somethin and wax doesn't do very much. How do i like, scrape the surface of the rail to make it smoother and more consistent? I tried a knife sharpener, kinda worked. but not good enough. Any ideas?

if its only a little bad spot on the rail go to home depot and get a rasp and grind it down, then sand it with sandpaper, but if its big, get an electric sander.

i like juice

get a buffer. we have one of those in my design construction class and it smooths out wood, and parts of the machines that it 'accidentally' fell on to :).

ya abuffer would definately work, what is the rail made out of too that would make a big difference, aluminum is naturally sticky

Grinding planetary rings would be incredibly difficult, not the least for which because there is no surface per se to slide on, and the collisions of the pieces of asteroid, dust and ice in the ring would make an environment that would not be pleasant. Your blood would first boil in the vacuum of space, leaving you so incapacitated that you could not maintain sufficient balance if there was a surface to grind, and then the temperature would freeze your skin, shatter your eardrums and sever your optical nerves because your watery eyeballs would freeze and then shatter. In the next split second, hundreds of particles of dust, ice and rock smaller than the size of this comma ',' would rip through your ski coat and body, instantly killing you. Your body would then still float about getting cut to shreds by the fragments until it is crushed between two colliding pieces of debris, eg two asteroids within the ring, which would grind your frozen body and regrettably snap your boards, boots and bindings, into dust to float around and become part of the massive debris fields that are the rings of Jupiter.

ewwwww sticky rails.. ya mine is pretty ill it was sticky until we sanded it dowm with sand paper and we also sprayed it with rust protectant paint and that made it even faster. However our rail i think is made out of steel.

TRY EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT MEANS KICKING YOUR OWN ASS

make sure it isn't aluminum. aluminum rails don't slide too well
