dunno if there is a certain criteria to be met but

catch-22 funny story about ww2 bombers

Lamb, or the Gospel according to Biff - hilarious satire of the gospel, hypothesizing about Jesus's life from birth to 30 which isnt covered in the bible

in dubious battle - good story of communist insurgencies in the apple orchards in california.

and thats all i can think of right now

Try anything by Edward Abbey if you like natureish books. also "a walk in the woods", by Bill Bryson

if you like the grateful dead, try reading "searching for the sound" by Phil Lesh

also try "on the road" by Jon krakauer

yea i do like the dead, im gonna read that for sure, but idk about reading it for the class if you knwo what i mean i was also considering fear and loathing but again its school

Meh, I read too much sci-fi for this thread. There's an amazing book by Steven Callahan, called Adrift. True story, he's hit by something in the middle of the night in his small sailboat while sailing solo. He makes it out with his survival gear, and has time to grab a few other things before the ship goes down. For the next 76 DAYS he is at the mercy of the currents before drifting all the way from the middle of the Atlantic to the Carribian Sea. Its a great "Survival" story, so go and read it!

Guns, Germs and steel- Jared Diamond

The Prince- Macciaveli

dude fear and loathing for sure.. i just read that book and fucking loved it.. you could twist it so it didnt have to be all about drugs.. talk about how he was trying to find the american dream and stuff like that. im reading the rum diary right now and plan on reading hells angels next. i love HSTs style of writing.

Yea that would be interesting.. if you were a king of an empire in 1500. For some reason I don't think anybody is on the website. Don't read that book, it isn't even a story. I mean yea, you get some good info on life, but it is not an easy read at all.

I suggest A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. Really good, huge page turner.

that is one of the most influential books in the history of man, it is not an easy read but gives great insight on life and how to be. i am sorry that you are so uneducated not to be able to apreiciate such a master piece of political insight.

slaughter house IV or the childrens crusade

by Kurt Vonnegut

the book will have u laughing ur ass off while it also talks about true events and alien planets
