This idea is very cool, and major props to him for raising the awareness and still skiing at the same time.

Thought it'd be pretty damn interesting to have a NEWSCHOOLERS flag/banner posted atop the 3rd highest African peak.

Vote if you could. This would be quite the idea winner for his summit breach.
 
its amazing to see a young dude with some serious initiative, but even though its a fund raiser, and hes climbing this mountain on his own pocket, wouldnt actually going and volunteering for 7 days at the hospital make more of an impact than climbing up a mountain and putting a ns flag on top?
 
If you read around smuggs....he states that after the climb he's spending his summer there to help the children in general.

the "crazy idea" aspect was his own add-on. Vote for this!
 
O well then, he will earn his 7 days of fun on the mountain. Just thought he was doing one of those wierd fundraisers where the guy raising the cash just does something fun. I'm gonna go back and check the whole site.
 
I thought so at first too. A couple of my friends climbed part of Kilimanjaro for charity. They didn't raise enough funds for travel etc, and ended up giving the charity nothing, and making a loss for themselves.

But this guy is actually helping out kids afterwards. The skiing is a very good fundraising gimmick. Mad props
