Getting my wisdom teeth pulled

So next wenesday im getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I just want to know what its like. Anyone else had any bad experiences?

Mine were fine. I was hopped up as shit afterwards for about 6 hours. They told me I wouldn't remember much before the surgery but I would be fine afterwards. I couldn't remember anything after the surgery for like 2 hours, then woke up a little sore and groggy but not too bad. The next day I was fine, eating and out with the guys.

fuck you just reminded me i have to see an oral surgeon to get all 4 out..

fuck.

They arent that bad. Just have lots of gauze on hand the first day. get lost of Boost shakes because they will make you feel full and dont hurt to ingest. After a day or two when the pain subsides eat cheese scrambled eggs because they provide legit sustinence and arent really solid food.

i have 2 impacted bottom ones so they need oral surgery - i'm just scared shitless of getting dry socket..sounds like a new definition of pain

how ironic- i got mine pulled today, im sitting at my mom's house in denver on a friday night recovering. it sucks, expect to lay low for a day or two.

i had three teeth surgically removed, and it wasnt bad at all, they sad it was gonna be mad painful for a week or 3 after and gave me a huge bottle of painkillers, but i never had to take any and the next day it was life as normal.

looking back i shouldve sold some of that shit

ah well...

anyways dont sweat it, its not overly painful, even day of

mine sucked. It was a terrible week that ended up with me trying to kill myself. But actually the teeth were fine, it was just everything else that sucked. Don't worry about it, and at most, the pain will be gone within a week

dont worry i had 2 that had like oral surgery or whats it called and it was fine,... in total i got 5 out at once because i had some sorta extra tooth which was fucked.. just dont get food stuck in teh stitches

its not bad unlesss you dont take care of yourself.

yeah its painful, but it passes. and tou have holes in your morth for like ages afterwards, i think mine only healed a year after i got mine out.

and you gt percosets.!!!

[start rant] wow i got mine out yesterday and it absolutly blows. The dr said i had the biggest, most skewed, wierdly posiitioned, and hardest to get out ones that he's ever had. i woke up while he was taking out the top 2, and it was the worse pain of my life. he had to drill holes through them to get ahold, and i could feel everytime he tried to grab them and slipped... it was honestly worse then rupturing my spleen.

right now im swollen like a motherfucker, and all i got for pain was fuckin tyllenol 3 w/ codine. no vic, oxy, or percocet. i cant eat, talk, or even open my mouth. Thanksgiving is in 2 days which means, i get to mis out on my favorite holiday, and i have a railjam on saturday taht i might not be able to compete in. fuck wisdom teeth [/rant]

yeah, i pulled out the stitches on one of mine too soon and i had a hole in my mouth that i had to douche out with water to get food out of it. gross as hell. it got kinda infected and hurt like hell, but then it healed. it really wasn't that bad. i still remember the room spinning before i got knocked out. trippy as hell

its not that bad. they prescribe some stuff, but fuck that I just used some tylonol. just sit in bed and watch ski movie's..

it hurts a little, and swells up, but its really not that bad.

im getting one pulled on friday(lower left), not looking forward to it but what can u do! dentist better better hook me up good with some pill!

Whatever you do make sure they're not dissolveable stitches. Takes like a month to go away (aka a month of inflammation). Awful. If you have a rough time eating hard food after, good stuff to eat is mashed potatoes, beef broth, overcooked fish. That's all I got.

the 6 things you need to make it as comfortable as possible

1. pudding (room tempurature)

2. comfy seat that you can sleep in

3. tylenol pm (to help you sleep and kill the pain)

4. tv

5. sprite/7up

6. the pain pills they give you

gather these things and it will be fine

i have to get mine out next Thursday. the 2 on the bottom are impacted so they will b a little harder to heal and the 2 top are just routine extractions. so we will see.

Frida, Friday is the wonderful day...getting 2 taken out, IV, gas and 2 needles in the mouth, should start lining up those ski movies

my brother got his pulled a couple weeks ago.

FOR THE FIRST DAY, DON'T SPIT!!! he kept spitting and then he kept having apin a week after and he ended up having some like pockets due to spitting.

you just get some Vicodin that you can sell for a profit, and you'll be fine in a couple days. its different for a lot of people

its going to suck for a while. and you will look like a chipmunk for a bit. but after a few days its all good. eatting will hurt like fucking mad. and try to stay away from toast n shit like that cuz it will open up and start bleeding. thats about it. good luck

my best advice, buy A LOT of ice cream and whenever u feel like shit or it hurts a lot, just wip out your favourite ice cream and start eating. it helped me more than pain killers. make sure to get a variety of good ice cream though.

and ice that shit

you wont feel anything until the day after. its really gross when you have the gauze in your mouth, especially when you try to eat or drink. NEVER use a straw, thatll give you dry sockets, and no pain medication can curb the pain of dry sockets. as much as itll suck, stay off your skis until the dentist says its ok. you seriously dont want to get dry sockets, my friend had dry sockets where all 4 teeth were and he said it was the worst experience ever. as long as you follow the rules youll be fine and good to go in a couple of days. i was fine on the third day

well my mouth was numb for about a day and a half. you will get vic or something similar.. overall not that bad, just dont eat solid foods too soon.

i was in the same boat. mine were not bad at all.. dry sockets generally only happen if you dont listen to the surgeon. no sucking on any thing.. cigs, straws, dick. haha jk

im quite disappointed, i figured someone would have brought up quite possibly NS best thread, "wisdom and constipation" but that was before a lot of you...

wow i was just about to make a thread like this..im gettin one pulled on saturday which sucks cuz itll ruin my weekend.. that is loged underneath a molar and he has to go down and dig it out and im nervous for it....shit

mine was pretty damn easy. i think the key is to eat your pineapple- i didnt swell at all, i even was able to eat pizza the day after. as for the actual operation, i took a pill a few hours before that made me sleep through the entire op and recovering hours. basically, it was wicked easy and i owe it all to a little pill and weeks of pineapple.

dont sweat it man.
