Getting married?

Is anyone else realizing that all of their friends are getting married? I'm 20, and I just got invited to be the bridesmaid at my good friend BrittAshtons wedding. I have five other girlfriends who are married, all 18-21, and two who have KIDS. All of the girls' parent's are OK with it,(excpet for one, her parents disowned her. She was actually living with my family and eloped. it was awkward. They're all loaded, too, from places like Pebble Beach and Menlo-Atherton. As far as education, all but one of them went to school with me at Santa Catalina School (www.santacatalina.org) and are smart girls.

I've never even had a boydriend! WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Someone explain.
 
i think they are marrying too early and will divorce and cause problems for themselves in the long run.

plus i dont believe yur 20 and never had a boyfriend.

But seriously why would you want to get married that young? Shit go live your life because after 25 when you have a wife and kids and a 9 to 5 paying off your cable bill life isn't too promising.

All of my friends are getting married too, it sucks when i want to hang out with them and they're doing couple things, but i laugh at them cause two are divorced now.
 
I'm 19 and I have so many friends, ages 19-23 who are getting engaged and married. It's so weird; I couldn't even entertain the thought of getting married so soon.

a few different things could be going on here:

a.) you're very picky, and all of the guys who do hit on you, you arent attracted to and dont find good enough.

b.) you're a lesbian who hasnt realized it yet

c.) you're promiscous, you get around like a record, so its not like you've never had guys interested in you, its just you've never been with one long enough to call a boyfriend

d.) you live in missoula, where its slim pickins

As for me never having a boyfriend... I've gone to all-girls school since 7th grade and before that I was like, 11. Now that I'm in college... inexplicable. I went on a date once! (then i went backpacking in Peru for 10 days and when I got back, he was fucking my best friend. AWESOME.)

a. true. I am picky, so that fucks things up. and I'm also oblivious and usually don't get it when people are hitting on me.

b. I've thought about that. seriously thought about it. but when it comes down to it, i would never be able to bring myself to hook up/date/go down on another girl. uch.

c. at this point, if i was a huge whore i would call it out. everyone said coming from a girls school i would go NUTS, but i didnt. i got in alot of trouble but i didnt and havent slutted it up. i havent gotten laid since January 2006. wow, overshare of the century...

d. FACT.

And to everyone in missoula this summer, I'm sticking around too, taking classes and whatever. Its on.

i was engaged once and married once (not to the same girl) the engagment was for real i met here in uni at the international college of Hotel managment in sydney and she was from norway dated for 3 years and engaged for 6 months it just ended because i wanted to travel more and she wanted to go to norway to live and we relised it wasnt going to work so no real regrets there.

the marrige though was a litle different to most peoples i met this girl at university as well she was from slovenia about 2 mounths after my engagment go broken off she came to me and we talked about visa's because as soon as she graduated she would be deported, so we decided so she could stay we would get married and divorce 2 years later when she got her pemanent citizenship (now what you have to relise was she is my best friend, i dont just marry people who need visa's however charge them money and i guess you could make some money)

and i would have done anything for this girl.

it is pretty cool we live together with my girlfriend from brazil and her boyfriend from italy so its really fun.

im 22 and looking back getting engaged with the norwegian girl was a bit of a mistake not my smartest move ever but i loved the girl and still do we talk all the time and there is something still there just our lifstyles are very different.

oh and to be like every one else, your a hottie.
 
eh. My parents were married at 21. It all depends on what you're looking for in life. I have a good friend whose brother is getting married this summer and they're both 21. then my friend at school who's a senior this year will be getting married this summer. and she's only 18. her bf is 22. I mean, there's an entire Mtv show based on young kids getting married. hey, if that's what they want and if they can make their marriage work so young, more power to them :)
 
getting engaged isnt really a mistake, its pretty easy to nullify an engagement, im pretty sure it just requires a ring to be moved from one finger to another.

thats weird that you married that chick so she could get her visa!

did you get a pre-nup?
 
another one of my i read this in my phychology text book moments but it said that people who got married in their teens had half the divorce date of those who marry in their twenties.
 
that's cause people who marry in their teens are weird and are like quakers or amish or mormon or live in another country where there are arranged marragies...etc.

and all of the above are against divorce.

a bunch of my friends from high school are getting married or engaged now as well, they are 23-25. i feel so old now, having friends getting married, buying houses, etc. a couple i think will make it and stay together, but this one girl has been back and forth with being engaged, broken up with her boyfriend for a year now, he has cheated on her twice. i mean really...thats ridiculous. hes not going to change.

also, they are not with the guys for that long, i mean getting engaged after a year or two seems weird to me. but hey, ive been with the same guy for over 4 years now, and am not engaged. we are just enjoying living together, we both are not ready to get married just yet in our lives anyway.

 
I got married once. It was weird. I had been reading Hunter S Thompson's book and I went on this cross country drug fueled trip. And then everything was kinda bizarre and didn't make sense for a month or two and when I finnally came out of the trip and sorta started getting back to normal I found out I was married. I was like "WHAT THE FUCK! I'm married!" I'm too young and broke to be married, cause I just went on a couple month drug fueled sex odyssey. But it was cool because not long after I found out I was married, I found out that my wife died of a drug overdose.

i graduated from high school last year and have a few friends that already got married all of which are girls
 
Really! Well, actually I don't think she owned much. I don't remember what she looks like or anything. All I have is the pictures now. She wasn't what you would call pretty. But I guess she was nice. I think. It is a true story though. I encourage all of you to go on your own drug fueled odyssey's it really changes your perspective and lets you see the true heart of the rotten American dream.
 
Ahh look. She's letting everyone know how mature she is,look everyone. The classic 'how old are you?' question. Been asked that a few times before. I'll tell you how old I am 'Old enough', but really I think you're taking this fucking website a bit too seriously. If you want to talk about getting married and shit, why would you want to do it where a bunch of 13 year olds are looking at you and having sexy thoughts about your profile picture. Really, don't you have friends or something to talk about that sort of stuff.

ah don't worry about it snowisfun, if you just get out there and seize the opportunity it will most deffinatly happen, your a very attractive young lady.

we're the same age, e-yay! not that that's of any significance though.
 
same here except all my friends aren't getting married! I feel like such a teenager and everyone's growing up. hell I still watch cartoons. oh well, back to fairly odd parents
