Getting into Canada

This may be a long shot on here but I'll see if any of you have been in

this situation... I'm taking a trip to Nelson/Revy/Golden next month

w/some friends. We're coming from the U.S. One of the friends has a

refusal of breathalyzer charge (which is a civil offense in Rhode

Island) and a midemeanor possession of weed charge from 2006 and 2007.

We've done some research and have been in touch w/ customs and it looks 50/50 on whether the border

agents will let him in. Has anyone ever had problems getting in Canada

w/these types of charges? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences

or any advice. Thanks in advance!

Hahahahaha, don't travel with that dude. I'm serious. He'll ruin your whole fucking trip. Make sure there is an alternate plan for him when he can't get in, or just don't go with him.
Canadian customs is notoriously awful to deal with and it is a true roll of the dice with the past history your friend has.Best o' luck, the places you are going to are amazing.

Getting arrested is fun!

But in all seriousness. I went this summer and we didn't have any trouble getting in. They just looked over passports and we drove right thru. No search or anything. It was harder to get back into the US surprisingly... But idk what'll happen with those charges. Tell him he made some stupid choices and therefore can't go??? sucks man

Getting into Canada is easier than most ppl think boys, I live here. The customs agents have like 25% of the power the US ones do, they are pretty chill as long as you dont give them any trouble and tell them where you are going. I don't know exactly where but I do know there is a few places that you can come in and there is no customs stop into canada, aka unpatrolled.

Shit EH. well then that sucks for all you americans, but I still think that coming to Canada is easier than getting into the USA and being a Canadian. But to put it how i think, Canadian and American border patrol and airport security is a total JOKE. if a guy can make it on a plane with a bomb in the first place someone aint doin their job. There is even an episode of the Passionate Eye, a canadian show on CBC about it and he gets away with so much shit.

you know your logic doesn't make any sense right? of course it's easier for you to get into canada than the states.... YOUR CANADIAN. you will never be refused entry into your own country unless you really really really fucked up.

My cousin was in that same situation last month and you just gotta go through the border and hope not to get caught, it's a long shot so don't rely on that guy for anything after the border.

You dont understand or maybe its just how i said it. Im saying relatively speaking, its easier for americans to come to canada compared to the difficulty canadians have going to the usa

Yeah true that. They defs judge eevryone that pulls up by the first look they get of them. Plus ppl seem to treat teens and young adults differently than everyone else.

I drove across to the West through the states, entering the US at detroit and then popped back to Canada right below Moose Jaw. With a fully packed car of stuff and Canadian passports we had no problem getting into the States however coming back into our native country we got fully searched, background and vehicle, took us an hour to load everything back in the car. Good luck bud.

yea we'll see, we're going to go for it and if he gets turned around the person driving with him will just jump in the other car we have and he'll drive back by himself.. we're hoping for no background check

So 1.5 years ago my mom got re married and decided to have the wedding in the san fran area. It was a small event so they drove down and rented a house. One of our friends decided to also drive down about a week early without a gift and planned on getting one there. The customs officers didnt believe him so the stopped him at the border, after doing a visual search they decided to take his car and drive to to their shop or something. He had to wait that day and the next (overnight) to get his car back after they took it apart and re assembled it. and after all the searching they finally let him over.
