Getting grips off of Joystick poles?

My buddy gave me some Spicolis and they are a bit too long. I have removed grips from poles many times before, but these seem like they are REALLY glued on. Long bouts of hot water is not working. Ideas?

I broke a pole, so I took my old man's 52" Kermas, and ran them under hot water for 2 mins and pulled as hard as I could.

Then, I looked at the top of the grip and there was a screw. I was embarrassed.

Moral of the story: Is there a screw? If not, pull like the dickens!

put the handle in hot water for a few min. an then stick it between a door and the wall and then pull, very easy..

( I just made my own bamboo poles, pretty stoked.. )

I boiled them and finally got them off and shortened.

Aren't the screws on the grips usually for the straps anyway? They don't actually hold the grip on the pole.

Dude, I would love to see your bamboo poles. Pics?

I'll try to make some soon.. I am going to France this weekend for some end season skiing and will be taking pictures there so i'll post them after that..

Just used some soft bicycle grips, aded some leather straps and some tape for decoration.. I only have to figure out how to put the basket on tight.. Dont know if the bamboo is to small or to wide.. And I have to strengthen the tips of the poles so the bamboo doesnt brake..

Any idea's anyone?
