and on that note

you should get a mac, they may be a little more expensive but in the long run when your computer still works and is virus free and not in the repair shop, you'll be happy

i have an hp pavillion dv2000 special edition. it's perfect for movies and games and music or whatever. has 4GB of RAM and a 300GB hard drive. 14.1 screen is perfect for fitting into my backpack. never had any problems with it. great machine

I myself just got a Dell this year for just under a grand and its fast and reliable. But it depends on what your doing with it too. If your editing movies and videos, photoshop, or anything to do with multimedia, you should go for a Mac. The downside is that Mac's are more expensive then a PC.

go to dell.com, and look for outlet, 1/2 as cheap, same good old beastsgot a fucking quad core 2.5ghz and 4g of ram, with a i gig graphics card (nvidia 8800gt) things a rocketsuports 4 monitorsbest buy evah!

a)you are a noobb) they take up roughly 25% of the comp populationvirus makers (yes, a software engineer needs to make one) rather make viruses for 75% of the population rather than 25% of the populationthere are mac viruses, but they are raremacs suck, becous you pay literally 2x the mount of money for the same hardware, if you like the software, buy the operating system and put it on ur pc, then you can swich os whenever you want, and you are much more versitile, goes both ways too, if you want to put windows on a mac, you can do that
PC are better for the value

True.

If you know anything about computers and you are on a budget get a PC. If you are computer illiterate and or got some cash to blow and will be doing graphics almost exclusively get a Mac.
