thats good to know that soft boots work for you^ but for the other 90% of the people out there, we like to have a boot that performs out of the park as well.

umm .. i went to my ski shop and they softened my boots.. like they cut down the amount of plastic underneath the second buckle.. and also cut the back of the boot so they would have more flex..

it seems to work pretty well

Fitted liners, good boots, and proper buckling haha. seriously though, not too tight, not too soft. and make sure you keep your boots warm as often as possible. and wen they're off leave them buckled. and skiing correctly plays a big part in all that.

some shops will put in a real dense foam pad that sticks to the shin of the boot, it works and you dont need pussy soft boots. if it bothers you that much take them to the shop where you got them from

stop landing back seat, or get that extra boot strap that goes on top of ur boot. eliminitaes the space betweet ur shin and boot. for extra help check out the other 800 posts about this

Yeah it's true.. I heard the Bush administration now controls 80% of the worlds magic.

A friend of mine uses booster straps, they are extra straps which go around the top of the boot. Unlike standard ones on ski boots they have some stretch in them. He says they work great, i'm going to get a pair because i'm suffering too!

mmm' i got some shin bang it hurts like a bitch, thanks for the tips

my shins killed at the beginning of the year but now its been like three months and its pretty much gone. I only feel it when i try to do a big manual or land backseat or something

The shit hasnt even begun to hit the fan

Get a boot that fits and isnt 2 sizes too big. Booster straps are niceas well.

Nordica Wave and Beast boots have them already on there, but they have some gay name like 'Energy Driver' or something, but its just a Booster Strap.

Most importantly, dont land backseat and dont ski backseat.

i have booster straps on my lange banshee's and my shin still hurts sometimes

^Yeah I agree, the straps help but don't prevent it completely. Try not to land in the back seat, and get a lot of pain killers going. There isn't a cure for shinbang yet, those scientists need to give up on that cancer BS and work on this...

you do have a muscle in the front/side of your shin, building that up might help out too, you can build it by placing a weight on your foot (on the top of your foot) and lifting your toes off the ground - by bending your ankle , trying to pull your toes to your shin. Building that up might take away some of the impact on your shin. Other than that, as was already said, boosters might help, and I know a lot of people that ski with peices of fairly high density foam in their boots.

life is too short to have any regrets

i've never experienced it, if i did i didn't notice...

to whoever dissed my soft boots saying that you like to ski outta the park...well guess what, i don't even have a park assfucker, i live in sun valley and although i love jumping, sliding rails and hitting the pipe, 80% of the time i'm not sessioning the pipe which means i'm out shredding, so lick my taint and buy some soft boots, at least don't diss em when you don't even know whats up. actually, keep living in pain cuz you deserve it, bitch!!

I believe he was saying that in general a stiffer boot is gonna respond much better then say a boot with laces... and I'm gonna go ahead and agree but if they work for you then thats super.

the only way shin bang can totally be avoided is by staying at home.

^I'd like to live in sun valley, you're pipe is actually pretty nice.

Anyways. Just make sure you have your boots buckled properly and think about getting custom insoles.

Yeah I get that shin slam crap all the time...but hey I am a skinny fuck! I mean I am loose in Langes that are 2 sizes to small! haha... I'm sure if I built up my calf muscles a little I wouldn't have a problem. I think I am just gonna stuff something in there in the mean time.

Try shaving your shins (seriously).

Have as little between your shin and your boot as poss. (thin sock, snug fit). When you're setting your boot up try leaning back. If there's a lot of space in the front, fix it.

If you're in Lange boots, get out of them. Raichle's have been my savior.

iceing and proper landings are the only thing thats worked for me. as for soft boots i had a pair of the rossis last year, took a single season for me to destroy them and my shins hurt all the time.
