weellll i was just tryin to get a serial code for my photo shop, and i downloaded and extraced something and BAM my computer starts freaking out, scanning and shit, windows popin up every 5 seconds and shit, fuck man, any advice? any good programs? stupid widowns gives u a program that costs fuckin money, gay.
 
Oh yes and my background picture decided to change to, i got owned.

It wont let me for some reason, says contact computer administator, and i am the administator...
 
here is what i suggest.

what anti-virus do you have. i suggest downloading avast! www.avast.com it is completely free if you download the home version- i have it, its great.

next, download hijackthis. i recommend this site: http://tomcoyote.com/hjt/

they have instruction and stuff about that program. NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO FIX ANY OF THAT SHIT YOURSELF, YOU WILL FUCK UP YOUR COMPUTER.

now, sign on to that forum (tomcoyote) they are experts and will help you use hijack this. it takes about a week for them to get back to you but they will fix your computer completely. and will work with you until it is clean.

you got pwn3d man, it happened to me too, but they put a new hard drive in my computer for free cause of my warantee or somthing like that.
 
Download - Ewido, AVG Free Adition, hijackthis (as suggested above) and a cws shredder. Also download Spybot Search and Destroy.

Run them all in safe mode.

Then, use firefox, not IE, if you aren't already.
 
just so you know, system restore can be your enemy here. A great deal of spyware/trojans/viruses infect the system restore files. So the second you hit system restore you load even more spyware on your computer.

The best software that I have dealt with for fighting spyware and that I use on all my clients with these issues:

1. Pest patrol 2005 (Extremely fast. Powerful, and picks up everything that other programs miss)

2. AVG-Free. Great software to always leave in your system tray.

3. Windows Antispyware. www.microsoft.com

4. Security task manager. (Allows you to see everything that's running in your computer processes and background and let's you forcefully shut it down and never open up again. Runs similar to hijack-this with a great user-friendly environment.

5.Ad-aware.

Load all those programs onto a cd, and you will be able to solve 95% of problems.
 
you dont NEED to reformat but you can.

i got smoked with a virus hardcore, deleted my system restore points and wouldnt let any window stay open (unless it was IE) for more then 2 seconds. oh yeah it disabled the keyboard on my laptop.

i got it fixed without having to reformat
 
um, that's not spyware. that's a virus. unless you can find and delete the file or process with an antivirus program or manually, the safest thing would be to reformat. and for future reference, it's always good to scan "shady" downloads like that with an antivirus program before extracting and/or running it. i recommend using avg free antivirus.
 
worrrd. I have pest patrol and it works so well, there's a new version of it now called counterspy. I believe they give you a 15 day free download, I bought the program, it's well worth it.
 
thast definatley not good man...try unplugging your somputer, bring it into a computer store and get it swiped clean...then just re-load the programs that u had on it....this is annoying but it is nessisary to ensure that your pc is clean(er) so ti wont fuck up your pc again...

just be careful when downloading things like that...
 
Ahh soo nice, reformated, got all my music and shit that i wanted(no programs) back on, works like a charm.
 
If u would have read the whole thread you would realize that it was from a program i downloaded to generate serials for Photoshop.
 
I had that same screen. i got it when i downloaded a crack for wmrecorder.. it was nasty, it installed 3 trojans.

I got it mostly cleared off but the startup programs were killing me because it would download new stuff every time. I just used the trial to spy sweeper and it worked wonders.
