GetBoards

Pretty sketchy. I knew of the mixed reviews from happy and disappointed customers, but I decided to bite it and buy from them.

So, nearly a month after I order, I still have no idea whether they have actually shipped it out. Sure, they told me they shipped it on the 28th of August, but the actual payment went through on the 5th of September, according to the credit card statement. So, did they ship without receiving payment? Or did they lie? Or maybe I'm overreacting, and it's only stuck at customs. Whatever it is, I have absolutely no idea, because they have still failed to give be some form of proof that they have actually shipped it.

What are your thoughts on this?

Also, here is the email I recently sent to them:

Hey guys,

I don't really like to complain, but I am slightly peeved that my order has yet to arrive. I apologise in advance for anything that might annoy you, but I am slightly disappointed with your customer service.

I ordered some ski equipment from you back on the 26th of August. Shipping was standard shipping to Canada, which was meant to take 7-10 days. So, on August 28th, I sent an email, and directly quoted from it is the following:

"Has this been processed yet? I've received no info on shipping or anything... I'm just wondering. I'm not in a rush at all, but it would be great to have a trackng number ;)"

And on September 1st, I received a reply:

David

sorry, it shipped on the 28th to canada

and takes 7-10 business days

I will have a tracking # for you after labor day, so tuesday

thanks so much

I waited 2 weeks for another reply, yet there was none. So on September 14th, which was over 2 weeks later, I sent another brief email saying:

hey

Would you happen to have the tracking number yet?

thanks,

dave

On the same day, you guys replied saying only the following:

let me get it

So, nearly a month later, I still have yet to receive my order, or any confirmation that you guys have even shipped it at all. I now look at the credit card statement, and it says the payment went through on September 5th. So, when you guys told me you shipped it off on August 28th, did you guys really ship without receiving payment, or did you guys lie? Maybe I'm overreacting, and only just stuck at customs. Whatever it is, I'd at least like to see some proof that you guys have actually shipped it off (which is why I've been asking for a tracking number). I never thought I'd need to say this, but I felt pretty sketchy buying from you guys, as I've received mixed reviews about your service. Some have been extremely pleased, while others have payed hundreds without receiving anything at all.

Bottom line is, I'd really like proof that you guys are legit and aren't just sitting there with my money in your hands. I paid $438.07 USD (after you guys matched all the original prices), and I have no idea whether you guys actually shipped my stuff, or whether you guys are just scamming money. I'd really like you guys to come clean on this one. I don't want another "I'm sorry, I it will ship tomorrow" and you guys don't ship it. Whatever the truth is, inconvenient or not, I'd like to know what is going on.

If you feel I've been unpleasant, I'm sorry, but I feel this is a problem that needs to be righted. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be unhappy if cheated of $400+. I'm also sure I'm not the only one that has been disappointed with your service.

I'm hoping to hear back from you guys soon

Dave

I have been in both boats with them. I ordered some invaders from them the first year they came out. I got the invaders just fine and everything was nice and kosher. Then, when the invaders de-lamed, Line directed me to take my complaint to them seeing as they couldn't give me my money back (which i requested).

I contacted GetBoards and told them my story and they agreed with no problems. But 2 weeks after i sent them back, there was not a credit back to the Visa. We proceeded to call GetBoards and talked to the head of customer service. he said he had credited it back and it was still processing. So, we waited. Not until another month went by did i check back. Much to my not-surprise, there was no credit back. We again went back to Visa and requested that they actually just take the money right from GetBoards.

After the money was back in my hands, i received one last email from the head of CS saying that they went ahead and credited it back to the Visa, and that we should look for it on the next statement. I replied by saying that we just had Visa do it and he did jack shit.

Haven't heard back from since.

i ordered some level gloves from them last xmas, and a 4frnt hoodie. They sent me a hoodie, but it was the wrong one. They never sent the gloves, and finally after numerous emails, they said the gloves were out of stock, and the website just has not been updated. And for my inconvience they would give me 20% off anything from the site. I dont know what to get with my 20% off.

U are going about ur problem with them pretty well, emails like that r what getboards needs, They really need to get their shit together.

I was going to buy some px 12 jib bindings from them but decided it was sketchy so i just bought some rossy axial12 ti from hoigaards, which is exact same binding just raised up.from what i read its pretty good i didnt order from them.

i ordered t halls for 209 dollars and they came in air mail 2 days later, cross country. its a hit or miss, usually orders with ski equipt or anything over $100 has good luck with getboards, but this is a different case. they really need to get their act together

Why get your shit together when you can be a wreck and people still buy from you?

Sorry you are in this boat. Hope it gets rectified, but with all the GOOD internet shops out there, why buy from one with nothing but bad news.

My friend did buy skis from them 2 years ago. He ended up with 2 pairs of skis and only paid for one. Worked out good for him, but wow, what a poor company if they cannot even track their sales properly.

its crap like that that REALLY makes me want to open a ski shop... I could easily get all of getboards customers by just shipping things that are paid for...

Your shit will come. I live in the same area as you, ordered something from them, it took a month and a half. But it got here.

yeah i got bindings legitametely from their big sale

but i just ordered 6 tees, 3 of them came correctly. 1 came in long sleeved. 1 came in the wrong size. and 1 didnt come but they didnt charge

yea i ordered a longboard from them about 2 weeks ago...so i order it with 2-3 day shipping cuase i was going away that weekend and i order a color. never comes. so i send out about 4 emails about the shipping trcak thing casue i never got that. then they call and tell me its out of stock and i have to get a new color then they send it to me. if u could get watever u want at another place i would get it there but if get boards is the cehapest go for it

dont worry too much...they are liget but they are a little slow.....i bought idea from them and it took a little bit to get here...and they dont charge you until they ship the payment....but i email them about IDEA and they said they had just got it in stock and mine was in the mail the next day....however it came like a week later...just be patient and maybe call them up not an e-mail, its more personal that way. oh ya i have always bought a lot of movies from there and they all came...but ive never bought anything bigger than a movie so maybe the take longer to ship bigger things..

So does that mean they lied when they said it was shipped on the 28th?

I dunno, the only reason I bought from them was because a lot of the Siver stuff was out of stock (or not sold) at other shops. CFS had some, but I don't think they ship to Canada. GetBoards matched some pretty good prices though, so what would normally have costed around $700 with their prices turned out just over $400.

I'm happy to wait, but I'd at least like to know that it's been shipped. So, I've gotten the shipping number (USPS), went to track it, and the USPS website said that all records were stored offline, and that I had to request for it. Anyone know what that may mean?

And @ APSki, thanks, I feel a bit better haha. One and a half months? Wow, GB needs to sort some shit out.

I don't think the fact that the card was charged on the 5th has much to do with it. for instance, i could go down the street to a 7-11 and pickup a slurpee (FRAWG flavor no doubt) on my card. but that transaction might not show up or affect my balance until a week later when the card goes through. different places take a different amount of time for the transaction. like, the 7-11 i mentioned i know for a fact doesn't process transactions until the following monday.

But anyways, i think your problem is a combination of two things, shipping to Canada sucks (from the US at least) and Getboards has poor customer service. My guess is that they shipped it, but for reasons that are unknown, shipping to canada sometimes mysteriously takes a month. I shipped a pair of skis this time last year to Quebec and it took a little over a month, and i've shipped a helmet that took close to a month aswell.

Then again it could be that getboards sucks, I ordered a jacket from them and they sent me the wrong size that was way too small. i tried to call them but their number had a message saying they are too busy and to email them. it took weeks to hear back from them EVEN BY EMAIL!! i wish they would have just told me they sold out of the size i needed because then i could have bought it from somewhere else instead i had to ship it back and wait for my card to be refunded before i could order the same jacket from another store whole process took like a month.

^ I agree, it could be a combination of many things. They're customer service honestly seems like it's run by a bunch of teenagers, seriously.

And, they replied to my email and got me a tracking number, as I said above. But guess what? They must have given me the wrong tracking number. This is taken from the tracking thing:

Shipment Activity Location Date & Time

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrived Abroad CANADA 09/11/07 8:38am

International Dispatch UNITED STATES 09/07/07 5:15pm

International Dispatch UNITED STATES 07/23/07 9:39am

Acceptance OCEAN CITY NJ 08226 07/21/07 9:10am

Now, first thing. GetBoards is not in Ocean City NJ, as far as I know. Second, it says it was shipped on 21 July. I ordered on August 26th. The tracking number given to me is obviously wrong. Honestly, the only reason I bought from GetBoards instead of Evogear, Tramdock, or all those other legit shops out there is 'cause GetBoards was the only place with my sizes in the outerwear I wanted. And now, I'm not even sure they'll send me the right sizes.

I'm gonna email them back.

Threaten legal action in your letter. That is just plain absurd. Now they are giving you wrong tracking numbers?

When will someone just put that horrible shop out of business.

I never really had a problem with them, yeah my tracking number didnt work, but my stuff got there in the specified number of days

Gah I got cut off...I ordered Oakley pants about a year ago with 2-3 day shipping and I never got them. I didn't get an email until 2 weeks later tell em that they had sold out. They never answered any of my calls either. Bad business to me!

Honestly? I guess I'm not the only one.

I don't wanna see these guys outta business, but I'd really like them to sort out whatever shit is going on there. It honestly seems like a bunch of 12 year olds running a shop. They ship it when they can get a ride with their dad into the city. They lose the tracking number with their toys. And have a room full of ski equipment, but don't know what sizes are still in stock or not.

Bah. I'm confident that it will arrive. I just don't know when.

I'd like to see them close.

They've been getting poor service reiews for years now, and still have not turned their act around.

It just amazes me that they are still in business when it is so well known that they are incompetant as could possibly be.

A shop that poor, for that long doesn't deserve to be a shop any longer.

Hit or miss isn't what you want to hear when ordering online. Getboards obviously has some issues and shotty business practices. Why in the world do people still order from them in an effort to save a few bucks? I know not all people have money to just throw around, but what is your time and the headache worth? Its worth the extra $$ for me to order from a reputible, consistant, and dope shop.. like the one in my sig.

i bought a siver cartl shirt, and it came. now i orderd some line anthems less than a month ago. but they have to go throgh another company to get tu bulgaria, so they still haven't come

Hit or miss is exactly what it is.

Other shops didn't have the outerwear I wanted, so, 'twas my only choice.

It was a last resort. Really.

i just ordered some anthems a week ago, they havent come yet so i called and the guy said that they just got the new shipment of 178s in and they shipped today. he said he would send me the tracking number from the shipping co. if they keep not coming then ill be pissed but so far its all good. also i know line has had problems with selling out of the 178s so i dont think its just an excuse
