No hate, but college may have not been that useful if you think the world will end in 2012..

I'd say good economic management will fix this issue within a year or two and even then, worst case and there WASN'T good management, there would be the end of the world, just some very hard times and you wouldn't be buying skis every year because they would cost too much..
