Alright guys. Last night marked the evening of a party at my buddies new house he just moved into. He is 21, and there are 3 other guys who all love there together. Im 17, i work with him as a ski instructor. So he throws this jam that was pretty fun. Anyways, needless to say i was not myself, and once again, i over drank. Getting up for class at 7 am was punishment enough, but my parents are really pissed. They keep telling me i drink to much, and that if i cant do it on my own they are going to have to do something. The pull the "ive seen to many peoples lives get ruined from alcohol" card quicker then i pull my charzard in a pokemon battle. And that thing gets pulled out fast. Also my moms best friend is an alcoholic. So there worried im going to end up like that. Its understandable, to an extent. They went through this stage in their life too, so they, after going to college just expect me not to be aware that people drink alot sometimes? fuck. Anyways, what i dont get was about a month ago my parents had a big party for christmas. That night i drank the most in my life, and it was all handed to my from my dad. I was puking everywhere and passing out. That night contradicts what they are telling me. How can they do that and then just tell me that im the irresponsible one.

Ah fuck im just getting this out there from my head, my mom just had a big talk with me. anyone wanna help me out with what i can actually say to them?

how does you getting drunk at a christmas party contradict you getting drunk at a party?

don't you think that you getting black out drunk under the same roof as your parents during the christmas party would give them a signal that you can't control yourself even when your parents are home?

just because they supplied you the booze you pin it on them for you getting that way? thats ridiculous, you should have been able to tell yourself that i have to moderate myself with how much i drink because my parents are around. and yet you didn't it. you didn't care.

My dad's life used to depend completely on alcohol, but they realize at my age, 18, that i am going to drink, and they did too. So they don't care as long as i don't drink and drive.
 
it was almost like my dad was pressuring me, like a buddy at a party. essentially he made me get the way i was. i know i could have refused, but the act of him delivering it to me, constantly, applys that he doesnt care the shape i get in. Then i go do the same thing at a buddies and i come home and they get mad. Thats the contradiction.

But seriously, do you REALLY need to go overboard like that? Whats the fucking point of drinking if your just gunna throw up and feel like total shit after? I drink often and I drink responsibly. I cant say ive ever thrown up or had to much of a hangover the next day. I still ussually get pretty drunk, have a great time, and dont feel like a douchebag the next day. It's also pretty damn easy to control yourself while drunk.. anyone who says they cant, I refuse to believe.
 
If you've never thrown up, you've never been drunk to the point of no control. That's a good thing, and I commend you for it, but that point does certainly exist, and those of us who have had a hard time controlling ourselves and end up there know all about it. But props on drinking responsibly.

To the starter of this thread, I'm not too sure what your complaint is. Your parents are allowing you to drink, which is better than lots of kids can say. They're just concerned about you not being able to control yourself, which is understandable. It sounds like if you just demonstrate some responsibility and maybe don't get way trashed at your friend's gay 3some house on a school night, everything should be fine.

ive thrown up and yakked everywhere and i was still able to control myself perfectly fine. now obviously i couldnt drive or focus on anything but i wouldnt go do something stupid like cheat on the girlfriend i dont have
