Get Boise on the Map

OMG now I can go tell my parents that I've finally made a difference in my life! Haha signed it, hope all goes well, might just have to drive down there myself, looks sick!
 
Stoked! The Eagle City Council approved the terrain park so there will be a sick park right in town (just outside Boise, Idaho) THIS winter! Mahalo to everyone who signed the petition.
 
Planet Snow just hooked up my local hill near Lansing, MI. These terrain park companies are going to make every park awesome eventually, signed!
 
having just read through the petition, i'm confused as to how this will work. i live in boise so i know how much snow (or lack of snow) we get down in the valley each year, and how long it tends to hang around. the petition states that it will use minimal water but i just don't see how the park could have a viable amount of snow without making their own, which uses massive amounts of water.

or is it something more like liberty snowflex? i'm stoked to see it actually got approved but i'm still skeptical
 
yeah but the valley only gets ~5-10% of our yearly snowfall, everything else lands in the mountains a good 2000 ft higher than boise. and when if finally does snow in the city, we'll get about 2-3 inches of accumulation that melts within a few hours. if this park isn't something like liberty snowflex i can't see it working
 
All of the snow will be man made. Ryan Neptune of Planet is building the park. They'll start making snow whenever the temp drops below freezing, which is usually at night in November in Boise. They hope to be open by Thanksgiving or early December. And they will open WITH a park (& not have to wait for snow to fall). There is already a huge water tank at the top of the hill. The park will actually use far less water than a golf course or grass sports field. They'll blow a deep base, like several feet. Planet did this at Hawk Island in Lansing, Michigan & they were the last resort to close last winter. Ryan's got it all figured out. He's built parks all over the world, including X-Games venues and Olympic jumps & courses. The guy knows what he's doing. It's gona be sick!
