Poll says 71 percent of voters want Bush gone

NEW YORK (IRNA) -- A Newsweek poll done after U.S. President George W. Bush delivered his State of the Union address found that many voters now see him as almost irrelevant.

The poll put Bush's job approval rating at 30 percent.

Almost three-quarters, 71 percent, of those polled agreed that Bush is an ineffectual lame duck, while 53 percent said they believe future historians will perceive Bush as a below-average president.

More than two-thirds, 67 percent, said they believe Bush's positions on Iraq are shaped by his personal beliefs, not by facts.

Many Republicans, 21 percent, agree with the overwhelming majority of Democrats and a majority of independents that they wish that Bush's term was already over.

Congress, or at least the former Republican majority in Congress, also gets poor marks, with 64 percent of respondents saying it should have done more to oppose Bush on the Iraq War.

Almost half, 48 percent, of those surveyed said their opinion of Bush will affect their choice in the 2008 presidential election.

While Reagen's economic policies may have been beneficial to middle and upper class citizens who can voice their opinions about the president, his diplomatic policies really fucked up the Middle East and is a major reason why Iran hates us right now. So yeah if that's the high bar to set I'm pretty sure anyone could be better.
 
being a canadian I actually really liked Clinton because he wasn't a complete dickhead to his neighbours to the north.

Bush on the otherhand is a complete asshole when it comes to cross border relationships. He's succesfully destroyed our half decent relationship and tightened up border security to the point in which people dread crossing over to America.
 
what makes me mad is that its not George W's fault its the American publics. They try and wash there blame on the retarted president we currently have. His poor desisions are only allowed to be made because of us putting him where he is. He and his congress all of who we put into power are now in the dog house. This being true we put them there so odviously we made some mistakes. Also how people flip flop at one time lots of people where like oh sure go for it that saddam guy is a real ass hole and now everyone is jumping on the forget push down with the war band wagon...where was all this anti war anti bush support during election time. I mean come on it was so odvious he was retarted then and we were like oh wait maybe give him another chance to fuck up some more.. Iam not saying kerry would have been better cuz hes an old fuck political slime ball too. ELECT FRESH BLOOD some one young spirted motivated and willing to push for change or else america is gonna continue down the poop shoot and maybe get the whole world to hate us instead of just 95%

Learn about the government and basic politics first before stating something so stupid.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for president bush to become a dictator without the approval of congress...USA is a great country because we have a nation with people that have strong beliefs. I dont necessarily support all his actions but he is our president and most definitely not our worst one. Lots of presidents look bad in a time of war...approval ratings are sometimes skewed anyways. There aren't too many GREAT presidents nowadays but I'll take what I get. Things won't get bad until the democrats take over the office and try to pull out of Iraq too early which will screw everything up. It takes time to reinstate a stable government, and we need foreign help for it. It's not Bush's fault: it's the people's fault for being so pessimistic.
 
I bet that his approval rating will drop below 20 percent by the time he is done. Iraq is a freaking leech to his legacy. What a mistake. Pretty soon people are going to fed up with all the shit so they will blow even small things out of proportion (ie FEMA issues).

THEREFORE: whoever is elected president next is going to look like shit

Iraq was 100% Bush's plan and it's failure is 100% Bush's fault for starting it. The people being pessimistic about it is why it's on the news every night.

Look here's a good analogy for you. There's a bunch of snakes sitting in a hole. Nobody's forcing you to step in the hole but you do and you get bitten by a snake. Is it the snakes fault for biting you? No, it's your fault for giving him the opportunity to bite you. You know damn well a snake will bite you if you get too close to it.

Stop using words like flip flop. Those are just words used by heavy Republican politicians who try and insult others. Sometimes it's good to "flip flop". If Bush had flipped flopped in his Iraq War plan, he might have been able to end it, but now we have fucked it up so it will take decades to fix.

Actually, according to the Colbert Report, Bush's low approval reating makes him less like Hitler, so you guys should be glad. He's only 30% like Hitler right now.
 
Thats actually not that accurate. His cabinet has been one of the biggest factors in why we started the war. Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and Donald Rumsfeld really were the neck that turned the head.
 
Look. I am on your side as far as disaggreing with how Americas foriegn policy has been implimented, but comments like this make you no better than hard line bush supporters. No one will take your rather vague and vengeful comments seriously if you are throwing out stuff like you would shoot the president if you had the chance. Grow up.
 
totally agree with this. in my personal opinion all the war in the middle east is is the finishing of a vindeta that bush had because his father could not get it done him self. anyone who is looking at the was as a success is obviously a politically un-informed individual. there is absolutely no reason what so ever that now over 3000 American lives have been lost in the middle east. and the sad thing, and my biggest fear about the whole thing is that if we ever do get out of there, 6 months after we get out of there it will be back to exactly what it was and all those lives will have been lost for nothing. shias and sunis will never ever get along. its been like that for the last 4000 years and we are not going to be able to change it!
