Really did not want it to come down to this but fuck it. Don't say it looks easy unless you try it because this is the most poorly fucking worded thing I've ever read. I already looked shit up on google but their method is different and it will be obvious if I don't follow the exact instructions. It's worth 30 mother fucking points which is a ton for my school, and no one else in my class or any other class understands it either. I will love you forever if you explain this...

It makes perfect sense to me when I read it but when I draw it out it does not come out the right way...
 
Just try to draw it and post a picture. My friends thought I was fucking retarded too until they actually tried
 
The solution our teacher showed us didn't show the segments intersecting so I assumed she wanted us to make a 5 pt star where the segments don't cross
 
well this is exactly what the textbook told you to do. and it gives you a 5 pointed star. just use an eraser?

Ok jesus christ that was so fucking simple. My teacher's solution just made me and everyone else in my class think that she drew every single line segment individually
 
I don't think it would work with just that one angle and only one line length. You would need multiple angles and line lengths to make it so none of the segments intersect
