Genie vs. Screamin Seamen

This is probably an important trick in the near future as more people are doing them with variations. I've heard it called "screamin seamen" for the most part until this year at X.

I personally don't mind if it's called "genie". Shorter to say and probably more TV friendly (for xgames, olympics, ect...). I'm no expert or anything though. What do you think?

In my heart it will always be the screamin seamen. I'd love to see it throwin in more often in comps (triple cork screamin semen whaaaat???) as i think it adds more style to an otherwise race to the future spin.

good to know genie = ss though, i do have a feeling the commentators will adopt genie for ease of access

Ignore this entire post. Screamin seaman =/= genie grab. Genie grab is a screamin seamen with a safety grab /thread

i think there is one thing we should clear up.

what is the actual term:

• seaman

• seamen

• semen

and where did it come from?

I heard somewhere that SS was from the moguls era, like shiftys and truck drivers. I don't think anyone knows the spelling though.

named after a skier whose last name is some variation of "seamen" who did the trick first I believe

I'm wondering why none of the pros have thrown one in a comp for the sole reason of throwing a massive curveball at the announcers. The names they would come up with would be priceless.

jf cusson x games big air 2001 (or somethint( year tanner did a switch rodeo 7 tail to win)

Laurent Favre in a cork 5 4 years ago

Kai Mahler dub cork 9 this year big air

in 2006, I did one with a 270 off a rail during the telus spin festival and the announcer called it a daffy.

(judges also scored it lower then a straight 630 out)

Chris Seamen (I actually do not know how to spell his name...) But he invented it. I met him once /claim?

Right now, a genie grab is a screamin seamin with ANY grab. But I guess that will have to change because I feel like this trick is coming up
