General Conversation

Maybe this will work better instead of a niche in a niche if we just make one thread for all of our New England needs it will get more views. Some one should make a official thread instead.

Soooo, New England Passes again? Or is it the year of the Saddle

Saddle back is just so far away , I probably will get up there once or twice this season, but I am getting worked up right about now. Will we see some Halloween fun at the river this year?

Definitely gonna make it to saddleback at least once.

I wonder what they're going to have for a park setup this year. They took down the double chair that was the main park access, and I imagine their rail situation is less than ideal right now.

Hyped that they're back running though.

I doubt it will be much, maybe [tag=188025]@a_burger[/tag] knows whats good

They still have all their rails, we borrowed a few for an event at titcomb a few seasons ago. Hiked there 2 weeks ago and didn't see much in the way of work being done on them, but 2 months is plenty of time to replace panels and grind rust off

Not really sure who's in charge of stuff, had some pretty qualified homies (including 1 who volunteered in the park when it was still open) inquire about working there this spring and they were only gotten back to recently to be told the manager and head builder spots were filled. I expect it probably won't be much to start with, maybe comparable to an average year before. Excited to ski there a few times at least, mostly for the trails though, the double chair would have been the main reason for me to ski park over there tbh

Anyone have any insider updates, frustrated it’s been so warm, I am just ready to start skiing so life will be right again. I am hoping Sunday gets open this weekend but Idk if they will

I don’t personally, but I saw somewhere on here that the stretch in the 60 really did some damage on their snow

that aged well, even killington had to delay opening this year

Killington opening tomorrow to season and Ikon passholders, anyone hitting it up? Thinking about going one day this wknd and maybe one day wed-friday next week, I only have 5 days there total though, hopefully bush will open up by next weekend

Sunday River and Loaf are making some serious snow rn , with killington opening I hope they feel the pressure, I have faith that we will see an opening Saturday

The boyne resorts will likely not open until the weekend is over to avoid a big rush and crowds

Agreed, they also got hacked and the seasons pass program is down , it may take a while, I’m sending wachusset tomorrow

Saddleback or maybe BMOM this weekend??

Idk the weathers looking pretty warm for them, loaf should be opening tomorrow. We should have about 8 features and maybe a jump if we can scrape up the snow for it.

Yep, it's official. I wish I could be there but I'm still stoked some place in Maine is finally opening after all this warm weather.

Edit: just saw the river is opening too. Ski season is finally here!

Trip Report , SR was wet and wild today, good coverage and snow, set up was eh but it’s early. The good stuff was on the top of Sunday punch accessed by lock which sucked . They had a mellow flat double barrel and a down bar to donkey dick side by side, then a bigger flat bar with an urban down rail side by side. Then they had a Sunday River classic stacking of a cannon to a down rail at the bottom of that set up. After that there is nothing until the middle of Sunday punch where they have a very small up to flat box , a small dance floor box , a wide mellow rainbow box and a very short 4feet maybe ? Flat bar

where are people shredding this weekend? how is it where you are?

my local mtn still isn't open yet so I just did some mellow street skiing at a park in town today. We only got like 15 cms from this storm but still enough to shred, I'm hoping it solidifies into a good base

We got like nothing in the GBA, pretty sad, but I'm hoping to get up to the Loaf or Saddleback pretty soon

Got 20 something inches from the storm in southern nh still super fluffy

damn, I really wish this storm had hit in march when there was a base it would've been all time

Sunday River is riding well, the jump they built has turned into a certified huck fest , the rails are still on another part of the mountain but they are consolidating soon.

This rain and 50 degree weather on Christmas is gonna put a hurt on the snow now that everything just started running

yeah WTF SANTA I thought I was pretty good this year, not very cash money

Sunday River parks finally came together T 72 in 3-D are both open 3-D is a flowy park with like c rails and and hips that set you up for the next hit it’s actually kind of cool. T72 has a 3 pack up top and the rail garden at the bottom but it’s now the comp spot so there are 2 30 footers in the bottom to

Anybody got some reports on social life and nightlife at different New England peaks? Went to crotched and it was kinda dead and opted for the strip club near 93. Not bad

this is neither here nor there but this is a photo of the fracture of an avalanche under the mountain triple at stowe i found today. this was about 10 years ago and is good to remember this shit can happen on the east at some of our northern resorts and even inbounds

Reminds me of when perfect north slopes in Indiana had one that took out there lift. It can happen

I’m afraid the days of October openings are over

idk temps dropping next week out in western mass to lows in the 30's...doesn't killington only need like 2 full days to get enough for a white ribbon? Best bet would be Halloween weekend but I'm not too hopeful

Killington has definitely become more ballsy than Sunday in the last few years. My prediction is Sunday River waits until the second weekend of November to assure everything is a go. I hope someone gets the Halloween date though.
