Gen 1 or 2 Canon 24-105mm Lens

I'm looking into getting a new lens and want to get the 24-105mm. I use it a lot at work and enjoy the huge focal length range and the quality of the image for how inexpensive relatively speaking.

Canon just recently released the Gen 2 24-105mm and need some help deciding if the price difference is worth it. I can pick up a Gen 1 on Amazon for $630 and a Gen 2 is roughly 1,100 on BH Photo Video.

What are you thoughts?
 
Gen 1, save the money. The Gen 1 is so loved and its been used by so many proffesionals over the years that it should work fine
