So when I went up skiing on Memorial Day (yesterday), I met this guy in his 70's that skiied 218 times this season. Since A Basin is staying open till July 4th, he is shooting fro 250 times. He has had 5 bi-pass surgeries. Also, he got his season pass at a senior discount...$30!!! He is so cool...a geezer ski bum.

Was it a a tele guy? There's an older tele guy who's an amazing skier, only skis off the Pali lift, skis up there every single day.

at stratton, i saw this older guy in the park with pow airs and headphones on, and he tried to slide a rail and ate shit but he just got up, laughed, and skied away.

at stevens there was this old guy who would ski almost every day and whistle everywhere he went. you could hear him coming from the lifts.

 
My hill has a guy like that. Has been there for like 20 years or something. So insane!

The guy who got me into skiing the park is 33 years old he was my boss at the ski shop I worked at after droppin out of college. He has to take lots of pain pills before we go out but he taught me how to jump. he doesnt do any tricks just saftey grabs but he guinea pigged the big air jump last year. He used to live at mammoth but they banished him to snowshoe (another ski resort that is owned by the same company that owns mammoth) he wont tell anyone why. But he says he was good buddies with Tommy Moe.

i love meeting old ski bums who are skiing on some straight old skis form like at least 15 years ago. Ask to see the base of there skis most of the time they have never been tunned.

I met this guy who told me in the 60,s he skied mammoth 40 consecutive days living out of his van in the parking lot.

I love going to different resorts and meeting these people and there stories.

at loon on x-mas eve there was a local who is at least 75 teleing down every ttrail with a chairlift in a santa outfit waving to everyone. It was just one of those things that makes you for a second realize how beautiful the world can be.
