Gear rumours 20/21

Descendants are great if you like a low cuff, and a last that fits like a bucket.

It only fits like a bucket if you have a narrow foot. Not everyone can fit in a 98-99mm lasted boot man

So am I but can we all take a second to agree that the Black Ops line has terrible fucking names. Sender, fine I guess. Gamer, what? Holy Shred, holy shit that’s stupid. How am I going to maintain my composure when talking to customers about the Rossignol Black Ops Holy Shred? Help me help you Rossi, I like the Black Ops 98 but it just got a lot harder to sell.

Does anyone have pics of next year colors of atomic/Salomon sth 13 and 16? Are they going to be compatible with WTR boots?

I know the Smith Squad Mag was mentioned somewhere in here, does anyone know if there's an XL Mag?

No Squad XL Mag for 20/21, but they seemed like they planned on making one for 21/22. The I/O Mag XL does stay in the line though.

*edit because production years are confusing this time of year...

Been a while since I’ve skied a Dynastar I really like, the new M free collection is spot on. Only gripe is the sizing, 182/192 for the 108. I know I prefer a ski in the 186-189 range but it’s mostly just how it affects sales. I always see that kind of sizing inhibit some customers from buying.

Mammoth Regional demo starts tomorrow, what need to be added to my list of "must try's"?

Reckoner 102/112

Mfree 108

Revolt 104

Blade

Katana

If the they have rossi sender squad 112 would to hear how it is!

New black crows ski looks cool too

194cm of pure straightener greatness. Stiff, responsive, and for what it is, carves decently well. Would be a great comp ski or open line ski. Took the old 2011ish squad and made it a little longer in length and turn radius, more stable tale and all around better!

Fuck yeah that sounds awesome. Sign me up!

Vision 118 183cm coming in right around 1950 grams each, 182.5 cm straight pull measure, -6cm mount point.

k2 reckoner 112 184 coming in right around 2000 grams each, haven’t done the measuring on this one yet but I’m planning on mounting it tonight so I’ll get all those measurements.

Delete if not allowed but I know some would be stoked to get next years boots.

Just got a bunch of next year's FT's in the shop. search "2021" in the search bar on our website to find em: slopestyle-ski.com

Any word if the pro tongue liners will be available on their own? I know I can just get them from intuition but I'm just wondering.

Probably, FT updated their pro wrap liners for this season which is available on for purchase on its own on their site.

FYI their tongue liners for next season is probably not the same as what Intuition offers themselves. Boot companies offering Intuition liners usually have it spec'd specifically for their boots.

Yeah I have this years FC10s and love them but I have narrow calves and tongue liners usually work best I was considering giving them a shot.

Anyone know anything about new j skis 110?

Name = The Slacker

Lengths = 174, 181, 188cm (I think? Might be 176, 182, 188)

Dimensions = 136 / 110 / 128

Radius = 20m @ 188cm

Weight = ~1,900g @ 188cm (weighing in at about 2k now but have a few more things to try)

Mount = -6.5(ish, still dialing that in)

Price = $699

Here's a pretty loose description I've been working on... "The least nerdy touring ski on the market. This all-terrain freestyle ski is designed for uphill efficiency, while maintaining the reliable, intuitive downhill performance J's are known for. Built with the backcountry in mind, its weight-conscious construction coupled with a subtle tail notch for reliable skin clip retention makes touring a cakewalk without looking like a skimo nerd. This ski dominates the downhill, leaving traditional uphill specific skis behind. Smash, surf, play and have more fun adventuring off the beaten path. Go earn ‘em! #JSlackerSki"
