Gear rumours 20/21

Buuuuttt I am still furious that they haven't literally just shaved 5 mm off each side of the Black Ops 118 and called it good. That ski would be amazing. Very excited about the Dynastar MFree 108 though.

Also came in here looking for news of the 108 Black Ops. Sad.

I’d be interested to hear some quick fit notes on the Shift Pro vs S/Max.

Shift Pro = S/Pro last, not S/Max...so generally speaking 100 last of the Pro vs. 98 last of the Max.

2021 Faction.

I swear NS if you take this down smh

Has anyone gotten on the new prodigy 3.0 and 4.0? Any feedback on stiffness/chargyness vs playful twin? They look like fun I just want to know how they compare to like a Jeffrey or something like that.

Dear gawd, it’s fucking ispo already, and NS mods are deleting shit like a bunch of bottom bitches hoping for a couple small scraps from the industry plate.

literally everything posted is available on other sites and much of it in accordance with brand’s release times...

Most of it’s been on TV too with the X Games. Kids could see it on tv and come here to find info but no we’re just gunna delete it.

I have catalog

Pm for it

Faction candide 1.0 and 2.0 has moar better strength and stuff it seems under binding. Like the new graphics as well.

Hot take:

Next years Faction stuff looks underwhelming and boring.

Even hotter take:

I have skied the new stuff, and it's great, especially the new prodigy 3.0, far from boring :)

I saw the specs of the new CT 1.0, 2.0 and Prodigy 3.0 and was interested in trying them out.

A beefier, heavier and more damp CT 2.0 that’s not symmetrical now might be a fun daily driver. Looks like the flex was stiffened too? - it’s listed the same(7/10) as other skis in the range that used to be stiffer than the CT 2.0.

It can be great to ski and still look bland and boring. But I do like the new Prodigy line, I think they look cool with the animals. The new CT line, on the other hand... looks meh (the 2018 CT 3.0 is my every day ski)

I didn't say they don't ski well. Just looks like the graphics department took the year off.

Coming from the east coast faction rep....

that said the ct 2.0 and 3.0 still look like sick daily drivers.

I get where you’re coming from. We def reined in the graphics for next year. That said, the prodigy line looks really great in person

Ok what are these ? Poachers? Anyone seen 2021 poachers?

Since the cat is out of the bag this week and everyone's seen almost everything I can shed some light on this. These skis shown here are the Reckoner 112. The graphic that you're seeing is one that we run here at K2 through the development stage of the ski and is not something that we use for production. The engineers go through a bunch of rounds on developing new skis so this colored, more stock looking top sheet, gets slight updates and different colors so that we can all keep track of which round of prototypes we're skiing.

looking at the Dynastar line and I’m seeing a 118 and a 108, but no 98? I know it’s one of the longest running models in the industry rn but it’s a good ski, hopefully there’s something planned to replace it.

Still called the Menace 98 next year with no changes. The new M Free 118 is the old Menace Proto and the M Free 108 is new.

Whats up with the animal face graphic trend? Armada, faction, and Volkl all have the same graphic just in a different style...

Animals are freaking cool, yo.

First day on the Reckoner 122’s tomorrow. Stay tuned.

952735.jpeg

One of the funnest skis I’ve ever had! These things are feathers which I’ve personally never really experienced with a ski this wide. They also didn’t chatter on high speed groomers which was awesome. They have a little less rocker in the tail ( shown pretty well in the photo) which help them respond and charge.

I’m very used to having a ski that will crush through crud and crust, which isn’t exactly the case with these on account of their weight, but they just float in soft snow and are the easiest things to whip around in the air which makes for a very fun ski for booters outside the park.

Are they pretty soft?

Nothing out of the ordinary. Feel pretty similar to the Mindbender 116C in terms of flex pattern, but the 122 has a more symmetrical flex pattern (i.e., softer tails than the 116). Just a nice flex pattern with fairly soft tips and tails but a very supportive midsection. The 102 is by far the softest of the new line.
