Gear rumours 20/21

122. Honestly more comparable to the Pettitor as they’ve got less rocker and more camber than the Hellbent. This screenshot is from Fostvedt’s story so I’m not sure about his bindings.

Are those the 122’s? Rocker looks like my hellbents and they look a few pounds lighter. Also are those pivots one of the new color ways or the “bare” color that they sell now?

Without seeing the new Reckoners in person, they almost seem like a reboot of the shreditor line, but with some mindbender DNA? Ive been on Marksman the past two years. They shred, but I’m over the asymmetric shape. I got back on my shreditor 112’s the other day and remembered how creamy smooth they are! I’m hyped for the new K2’s.

Damn, I really hope that's the production topsheet.

The black boot in the back there with same pink colour booster strap makes me think so. Or maybe just customs. Who knows. ?

I’m getting mine mounted today and shredding them tonight so I’ll give everyone feed back on them. But that was the plan with the reckoner lineup was to go back to the shreditior design but have the new carbon layup of the 116c mindbender

102s will hopefully be my type of ski :) Have fun out there!

My shops K2 buyer was guessing a Spring release on the Reckoner series so maybe nothing till late ski season.

They're the Raw colorway from last year.

This doesn’t need to be anyone else’s opinion, but I have to say these have got to be the ugliest skis of the year. I understand they’re an artist collab but, good lord, they look like every grom-specific ski from the past ten years mixed into one.

They look like they took armadas graphics off the Dollo and B-Dog and tried to make them look like a kids graphic.

Dude, if there’s an s/max with inserts my dick is going to move.

This was my initial reaction, but apparently it's closer to the s/pro shape. Hoping to try it on at OR.

I think that might be the special blend. There was an option for the TC van go fund me to buy the special blend for $800. So I’m guessing either egg got the new blends and the special blend is just the new version or that a totally different blend that’s super limited and the people who payed 800 got that limited edition ski

Those are the new Blends.

There is indeed a Special Blend limited graphic, but I have yet to see anyone post a pic.

The Blend is coming back with an improved construction: Keeping everything the rider's liked about the original and improving the butterability (in terms of nose surface area and stability) and better turn initiation.

New prodigy 3.0? From his posts they have an orange base. I think they could be a new alt topsheet cuz Faction does a lot of those tho

Any clue when they'll be released to the public? I'm close to grabbing some marksman's but if these are coming out soon i may hold out for them. just wish the 102 was marksman width, IMO its a perfect wide park ski/all mountain jib width. Id probably just go with some marksmans if they werent left/right specific.

I want to confirm that there will be a third option to the Reckoner series that is a 112 width to accompany the 122 and the 102 that are in the photos above. I haven't seen the 112 posted anywhere online yet but the tradeshows will be here before you know it :)

Excited for everyone to see the new K2 collection in its entirety!

Its called the Shift Pro 130. Looks like a s/pro with a mtn lab walk switch on the back and tech inserts....Unsure if they will be making a Shift Max 130....

All I want in life is a T/Max 120

So 100 last then? Tried on the SMax yesterday and found it to fit average-large for a 98mm last.

these widths are the same as the CT 5 (soon to be 4), 3, and 2. are the skis similar in other ways? or just waist width

The CT5 will remain the 5, we are just dropping the 4.0 from the catalog

Really? I've tried on a lot of boots and found the SMax to have the narrowest fit of any 98mm last. Which boot did you find to be smaller?

that all depends on the size you tried. Remember... 98mm last is ONLY for 26.5. add a mm or two as you go up in size

Obviously we are speaking in relative terms.

I definitely expected the SMax to be on the lower side of width. Tried on:

Tecninca Mach 1 LV - by far the smallest volume of the bunch, vice like all around

Lange RX 130 LV - expected this to be narrower too, little tight on my usual protrusions but too much volume in height

Salomon SMax 130 C - fit pretty good actually, no tightness on metas, maybe a little small around heel

Nordica Promachine 130 - winner of the bunch, I would say similar in width or slightly more than Salomon, slightly lower height, amazing around heel and ankle, that cork liner is awesome.

K2 Mindbender 130 - tried on out of curiosity...absolutely cavernous

Forgive the thread drift.

Got to put a day on the new reckoner 102 today! It’s a hell of a fun all mtn park ski! It did quite well in the powder! Handled the rest of the mountain and park great!

I don't think that the skis share any similarity other than the waist widths.

What are you touring in currently? My touring boots (Cochise w/ Intuition Pro Tongue + shim) don't really work well for my shin and ankle, you been in anything that fits close to the s/max?

ps. Mounted my Deathwish's today, stoked to shred the 1.5 inches of fresh tomorrow

Awesome to hear! Let us know when you get them on a scale to see their weight.(even with bindings as I can do subtraction!) lol

Tried on a bunch of boots over the past few months, including:

K2 Mindbender

Fischer Ranger

Atomic XTD

Lange Freetour

Salomon S/Lab

Scarpa Maestrale

and a few others I can't recall.

Landed in the Tecnica Zero G. It's the closest I could find to the S/Max, still working a few things out but it actually grips my skinny calves / ankles. The foot area is not quite as tight as the S/Max, but it's the closest thing I could find.

Honestly though I'd wait a month and see what people are saying the Shift Pro Tour fits like, because that might be the move. I will for sure be trying it on at the end of this month so I can give you an update.

I thought Atomic XTD is the best for skinny legs.

It's certainly an option, but the lower section of the boot just didn't play well with my foot shape. Still gripped the calf / ankle, but I feel the Zero G is closer to the S/Max, which both myself and [tag=253633]@-eREKTion-[/tag] are big fans of.

Revolt 104 looks sick. And by sick, I mean it both aesthetically looks like something that might upset my stomach, and a ski that could be really fun.

You won't lose it, that's for sure.

Faction is likely running out of other people’s money at this point. I sincerely doubt they reached the numbers mentioned last time they were rounding up investors. Probably pretty hard to get more when your only success relies on a a single dude’s name.
