Gear knob ski handle

Me and a few mates are customizing a minibus to take us away at the moment, with better seating ski/surfboard storage, entertainment, fridge, mini cooker etc and I had an idea for a gear knob

its a ski pole handle, im liking the look of k2's 07-08 series the v12, and was wondering if anyone knows how I can possible make it work?

never know someone on here might be diy minded cause Im not.

well if the ski pole diameter is greater then the diameter of the shift rod without the existing knob on it then you could cut the pole with a few inches of pole still left. Next since the ski pole is probably hollow (I may be wrong but i think it is), get a bolt and drill a hole the size of hte bolt through the ski pole itself. Also drill a hole in the shift rod at your desired height. Slide the bolt through and tighten down like a mouther fucker. Finally test it out to make sure it isn't lose or anything, Then you should have a bad ass shifter knob! Hope that helps

you need to make a ski rack on the side with huge pvc tubes, then put a huge ski or die sticker on the back.

thanks for that BFkid, sounds good to me,

as for the other comments im liking the sound of it!!

the only trouble I can see with side mounting racks is the security issue, I wouldnt mind dressing up the outside and drilling in place old skis, that wouldnt look too bad but as for my gear that going inside in its own little lounge haha

any other ideas welcome, either way im trying that gear knob

hinge on a piece of plywood to the top so you have a swing down drop in ramp anywhere you go

fuck that if our going on a road trip

it might be better for the environment by the slightest amount but it wont last long at all

1. Take gear knob off.

2. Take ski grip off.

3. Figure out how to fit it on. It can't be that hard.

For ski storage inside, rig up some bungees or velcro straps to store skis on the ceiling. I've been thinking of doing it in my car but need to measure it up first.

well, prolly your best bet, if you wanna do it right, is go get some good epoxy that can be tapped out. cut the ski pole to your desired length. fill the bottom 2-3 inches of the pole with epoxy and let it dry. (youd need to pour it in and cap it, flip it rightside up). once it cured, drill it out and tap it with the right threads for your shifter. the other option is to find a nut or bolt that fits the shifter, and epoxy that in there.
