the only way for me to be happy is to be able to make my own money thats legal, could i do that, no. Homosexuality is wierd, not natural.
 
Well bestiality is illegal in most countries...as is murder and baby eating. I think it *pursuit* of *happiness* encompasses things that don't harm people or have to do with fucking animals. At least have a better examples if you're trying to argue.
 
i am catholic and see both sides of the argument, however i support gay marriage. it doesn't hurt me in any way, shape, or form to allow others to feel the same happiness i am granted being heterosexual

That's possibly the worst reasoning I've ever heard. There are a bunch of studies that show that it is because of a chemical imbalance in the womb. Saying that when babies cry, they don't sound like the gay stereotype does not count as a study.

another thing... did you know 25% of Americans are of the evangelical religion? yes.. this means that this particular church holds all the voting power in the united states, whoever the church says to vote for, they will ALL vote for because there just that hardcore.. another fact.. BUSH is a born again christian (basically evangelical) one more fact.. this one may scare you

the Colorado springs evangelical church leader( not anymore) who was caught having relations with a gay prostitute and buying crystal meth (even though he was a leader in the war on drugs and a leader in the fight against gay marriage) met with president bush up to 2 times per week when he was still leading the church... this means that they consolidated each other about how to control the votes.. as long as Mr meth gay-face agreed with bush, together they controlled the votes, and they will continue to do so... this is the reason why voting is unfair in the united states, and is another reason why i will be moving to Canada

Personally I still hold the opinion that gayness is not natural and therefore came by a mutation in the human genome. It's just as simple as the quote you took from me up above but now I actually researched it and still come to the same conclusion.

But I can't tell for sure because there is evidence for both sides.

and civil unions DO appeal to both sides because people want marriages

and marriages give:

a) religious bonding (if you're gay then you are automatically a sinner but God is forgiveful so you still go to heaven if you believe)

b) tax rights

c) family plans

d) and a bunch of other stuff I have no time to list

so civil unions can allow the same rights, but it's just not a religious bonding.

definition of civil unions: A civil union is a legally recognized union between two persons of the same sex, equivalent to marriage.

I care about what happens to the world, and there need to be some rules upholding what marriage is and always has been. It will indirectly affect everyone. It will become a precedent to more and more rule changes that have been the base of our society for a long time.

I disagree with "live and let live."

It's just my nature.

We should at least allow civil unions, gay people still have rights.

I dislike the fact that there is a mutation that causes something that should not exist.

Again, I'll repeat my theory:

Because it's impossible to reproduce by anal sex, if gayness was a genetic mutation, then it should be impossible to pass down to children. So I'm pretty split between the two theories. It could be because of the upbringing, too, but that just seems so weird. Then it would be psychological.

if youre worried about things degrading the value of marriage why arent you ardently against divorce? its a much bigger threat to marriage's "sacredness" (or whatever) than gay people marrying people they LOVE.

I went through cancer without any reliance on god thank you very much. I am living a happy life afterwards, also without religion or reliance upon a god. Also, if you really do get signs from god why dont' you go start your own fundamentalist religion? That's what all the other "prophets" did wasn't it?
