so i was dumb and had my ears gauged to a 0 for about 3 years i think and i've decided to take them out ..

are there any tips that really work well for this ? i've heard everything from actually going bigger then going smaller right after to iniate the healing i guess to just gradually going down in size one step at a time.

right now i just took them out and trying to let them heal on their own ...

i dont think the holes will ever 'heal' on their own. i have a friend who had 1/2" ones for a while, and shes had them out for a couple of years now, and for the most part, the holes havent shrunk all too much.

just get surgery like that nerd kid in the shitty band on made who wanted to be a model.

ya this was probably one of the dumbest decision i've made.

but ya right now i put on some aquaphor, that stuff they tell you to put on your tattoo after you get it done and seeing how that goes .

i mean like magical jizz might do the trick i've heard though ..

no homo ?

my shop told me anything 0 and smaller will heal on its own, but im kinda skeptical about that. mine are at 2 right now and i dont think they will heal on there own, and if they do heal it will end up looking like a bellybutton. just give it time i would say

Just give them time... cause i have mine at 0 as well... and literally everytime i take them out for more then a day.. i have to stretch to get them back up to 0... so just take your 2s and put them in for a while and keep going down... its not the fastest processes. but it works... soo just take your time.

lick my butthole?

jk

but i am gagueing mine now but only to like a 6 or 4 so its not hard to close up,

but ive been told to just give it time and they will eventually

I think it's somewhat dependent on the person. I know a guy that had his at 7/8" a few years ago and the holes are pretty comparable to my 2g ones right now. I also know people who have taken theirs out and have seen really insignificant changes. I'm just going to use my lobes as really inconvenient storage devices if I ever decide I don't like them.

I wonder who tells you that they'll heal fine? The people selling you the rings? Legit source of info if you ask me.

yeah but bro, you'd look so cool!

Will They Shrink Back?

When

stretching a piercing, the odds are not in your favor that it will

shrink back to normal size. So, when you decide to stretch, be sure

that you are prepared to handle a permanent stretch.

But, it is not impossible for a stretched piercings to return to a normal size. However, it will depend on a few factors:

  • Size of Stretch:

The larger you go, the less likely it will go back to its original

size. Generally, 0 gauge has been coined "the point of no return,"

meaning that once you have stretched that far, it's not going to go

back. Over the point of no return, your ears can shrink, but they may

not return to normal, just a smaller gauge.
  • Length of Stretch Time:

If your piercing has been stretched for a couple of years or more, it's

pretty well set and probably isn't going to shrink back to a full

normal size. A smaller gauge is possible, though.
  • How It Was Stretched:

If the piercing was stretched too quickly, especially if there was

resulting scar tissue, it probably won't revert very easily. If it was

done with a scalpel or dermal punch, it definitely won't shrink.

But,

as everyone's body is different, the amount of shrinkage will depend on

you. Just make sure that you make every stretch as though it will be

permanent.

they will never heal. you will have holes in your ears for the rest of your life, however they will eventually begin to look like floppy shriveled vagina lips.

my friend just had surgery and they stitched up his ears, told him his gauges would never heal together on their own.

my friend had three piercings per ear and had stretched all three, biggest to 00 i think or half inch, then the other two smaller, and she took them all out at some point and they've all pretty much closed up. her biggest one looks normal but its still probably a 14 or 16. it really depends on your body. i'm at 3/4 and i'm pretty sure i could close up just because that's how my body is. i think the general rule is that if you don't go past 1/2 or something you should close up fine. might just take a while, you could try stretching a bit then removing them and using polysporin, but you want to reduce the trauma you do to your ear, which is also a factor in closing up. the more you expose your ears to scaring or blow outs or just simple distress is probably the less likely chance you have to heal it up clean. on another note, i got an infection when i went up to 5/8 and my ear closed up to a 4, but stretched relatively quicker the second time around. just take them out for a while and see what happens.
