I really like my Gateway Laptop, it just seems to work more smoothly then my cousins DELL. THe biggest difference is the mouse pad, his dells mouse pad goes everywhere when you use it.

gateway looks really chep from what ive seen i have a dell works great so ot of the 2 companies get a dell.. and no dont get a mac

i would say build your own, but these are laptops. dell. or the g5 notebook from apple.

you're gonna want to go with a mac if you do a lot of video/picture/music editing stuff. they own all of that. but if you want to game at all, or don't really want a computer for editing or all that i'd suggest a pc

the sony, gateway, and dell computers all run on the same stuff, and are all fairly the same.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

they all run on windows, which I'll admit is a good system, but for video editing windows blows and Mac is the way to go.

yeah no shit, what have i been saying, the company who makes the computer doesn't matter (unless it's apple) they all run basically the same, it's just how nice the components are inside the computer, so you can have a super nice dell and a shitty vaio, or a shitty dell and a super nice vaio, it all depends on how much money you spend. apple's are a different story though.

 
dells and gateways suck balls. the only problem with macs is that a lot of programs/hardware isn't compatible.

if you must choose between gateway and dell, i would choose dell just because if you run into any hardware issues, dell seems to have good turn around on RMAs and what not. they also seem to cram less shit in their out of the box setups such as poopdick trial software. IMO gateway is alright but, between the two, dell takes the cake.

 
if you can drop alot of bills get a dell xps laptop there not small but they pack some serios power. from my experence dell seems to be durable i have a dell insperon 8200 and iv droped that fucker so many times and it dosnt break. dell also has decent support and the hold true to there warente. if you get a dell i recomend geting all the exted warente stuff and accidental protection plan.

ohh and i forgot that moss pad thing there are setings i belive to change the sensitivity and how fast it moves so his settings are probly just fucked up

I don't know much about Dell Laptops and Gateways but I'm fucked with my dell because i need more Ram but Dell discontinued making Chips for more Ram. The only way to get more Ram for my dell computer is to get a chip called Rhambus and its like $400.

you broke the rules, now im gonna pull out all your pubic hairs.
 
dewd that sucks, rambus blows the donkey's nut. you can still get it for like $110 per 512 or so, but thats still pretty nasty compared to ddr or even ddr2 in some cases.

i know so many people who have had problems with dells. they buy their components from whoever they can get stuff cheapest from at the time, therefore if you call their tech support, the guys have no idea what company's components you are using on your computer. its a big mess, plus most of them speak horribly broken english.
