Does it actually help the gas milage to put down the tailgate on a pickup, or is it even worth it?

i watched this show i think it was called mythbusters and it was more fuel efficient to run a car with the windows down and the ac off then run a car with the ac on and windows up

^^^yea A/C robs mad horsepower. if you're lucky like me you don't have ac haha. go tailgated down for sure or take it off and get a net

i gotta start doing that..i keep the ac on way to high... i also have been driving in 5th gear all the time to try and save gas

on the highway its more effecient to have windows up and ac on, but around town its the opposite, tailgate down is just as bas a tailgate up. The best thing to do is to get a net or take the gate off totally. Sadly I did a paper on this.

I'll drive it untill the wheels fall off, then I'll buy new wheels!
 
dude just ditch the tailgate because also they're relatively heavy. any way you can lighten it without maiking it look like crap always helps e.i. ditchin the tailgate

that actualy wastes gas because when u try to accelerate u lose alot of gas, just keep it around 2000-3000 rpms

^no the higher the revs the more gas your using captain, think about it when you fucking a girl the harder you hump the more energy you use the slower you hump you use less energy it just takes longer to get to the point.
