I just heard that on CNN that gas has hit SIX dollars a gallon in Atlanta...

I heard that the average cost to gas companies (or maybe OPEC) is that a barrel of gas cost 5 dollars for their company, which means there making over 55 dollars of profit

I thought it peaked at 7 bucks a gallon the other day, I could be wrong though.

wow. its gonna get so high . its $3.30 where i live. and i thought that was high. my friends and i were just talking about this last nite and how im gonna hafta like park my car in my driveway and ride my bike and stuff if gas keeps going up.

right now we have it at 3.19 which sux and supposedly we only have a 21 day supply of gas left at this time i dunno if that will change on not..hopefully it will

I paid $2.79 yesterday in Utah for the cheap stuff.. cost me $50 to fill it. Good thing i just got a motorcycle.

what sucks is that we totally have the technology to make more fuel efficient cars instead of giant SUVs, in china they have cars that are like 40 or so miles per gallon

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Six bucks... Holy shit. It's only like three bucks out here in Hawaii, and we're like a three thousand mile flight from the mainland... Shouldn't that make our gas more expensive?

It might be higher though, I'm in boarding school and I can't drive here, so I'm not quite up on gas prices.

whoever said we have a 21 day reserve, maybee in canada, but in the US i know for shure we have enough gas filled in an old mine that has been there since the Soviet-communism scare that can last the whole country at its current consumption rate for 90days

Yeah, last time I filled up, it was $2.95, and before that, $2.65. The national average has jumped a dollar in a week.

It's $3.49 as of my drive home....... ASSUMING IT STAYS THERE for the next day, I'll be paying...........

10.5 gal. x $3.49 = $36.64 to fill my fucking SUBARU COUPE

And, if it keeps going up at the rate of $0.30/2 days then I'll be paying.....

$39.79 to fill my car tomorrow.

Continue that trend a week into the future ($4.80 ish for those still with me) and I'll be hitting that $50 reswipe thing on the fucking gas pumps.

My Trek XO 1 cyclocross bike runs on water and energy bars. Thats what I take to work now. My jeep and its 15mpg have been parked with a "For Sale" Sign on it.

 
yesterday the cheapest gas rose from 2.79 to 3.00 and today it was 3.50...

I didn't realize that it was that expensive everywhere else... I just paid 2.65 around the seattle area... I guess that's pretty good... I remember the good ol days when a good deal on gas was 99 cents a gallon.... granted I wasn't old enough to drive then...
