many of you know of Garrison Hill Park in Dover. Some of you may know
that last year, Fire On The Mountain Ski Shop started the process of
restoring and rebuilding the ski trails and terrain park on the side of
Garrison Hill. This was done through mostly fund raising efforts to
raise money. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not cooperate with a snowy
winter so use of the Park was limited. But this is NOT the end! There
is an amazing opportunity to have a 4 season recreation area in your own
back yard.
Part of the plan is to clean up existing trails,
add new trails for downhill and XC skiing, and rebuild and maintain a
legit terrain park with multiple features. We also want to add a surface
lift, lights and possibly a snow making system. This place will ROCK if
we can get this done but we need your help. With the support of the
local ski community, we can raise enough money and secure matching
grants to get this done.
Currently Coca Cola is running a
contest called "America is Your Park"in which people can vote for their
favorite park and the top 3 vote getters will receive up to $100,000 for
improvements!. Garrison Hill has been chosen as one of parks. I am
asking all of you to vote for Garrison Hill (you can vote as many times
as you want) so we can get into the top 3. Here is the link to the
