Gapers and "putting the bar down"

our quad is like 5 feet long, why put the saftey bar down. has anyone else noticed this? the weird thing is that, people always think that everyone puts the bar down, so they don't bother to ask, and then it hits you in the back of the head (if you are tall). people are maniacs, dude.

if it has a foot rest i tend to put the bar down put i got knocked off the lift once cause some gaper put the bar down as i was leaning fowards....it was only 5 ft up but i felt like a retard

I normally put it down. What I hate is people who put it down as soon as they get on the lift. Wait a second!

hahahaha- i wouldnt really call it maniacal to put the bar down!

but yeah, i see where some of you are coming from...hitting you int he head is annoying

dude they'll pull your pass at our mountain if they spot ya with your bar up and radio up to the top its about the gayest thing ever

when people slam the bar down i hold it down at the end right to the last second and they start panicing

are you too cooool for the bar or somethin? and why do you have the quad that goes only 5 feet? that makes no sense, you can walk 5 feet in like... 5 seconds, tops.

The first time I ever went skiing outside of michigan I just about died from the bar every time I rode the lift. I would be leaning over and people would slam it down on my head. Another few times they pulled it down without warning and the little part that touches the seat to stop it from going down to far stabbed my thigh. I really like the ones with footrests though now that I've gotten used to not getting hit with them. When people do put them down I like to stay leaning on them as long as possible before I get off.

putting the bar down is fine, hes just sayin he hates it when you just sit down and the gapers are pulling the bar down in a panic like the 5 foot fall will kill em... its nice to at least get outta the station and get settled in

"put the fucking bar down! your gonna make my kid fall off the fucking lift!!!!"

a common thing to hear on our 15 ft. high slow as shit lift, haha

my brother does that, he also plays "safety first". when a gaper gets on the lift he yells "safety first!" and slams the bar down. its funny when he hits their legs but funnier when he hits his own

if there is a bar i will usually put it down so i can lean on it, and if the bar has footrests, your retarded if you dont put it down.

Yeah it pisses me off when people put the bar down. i only put it down when im tryin to put something on or stuff like tht.

hahah me too i got yelled at so much for not putting the park chairs bar down, but they didnt seem to care about me jumping off the lift, they just looked at me and shook there head

i love leaning on bars.

i hate when people dont warn me they are putting the bar down.

i love slamming the bar into people when they are assholes in line.

i like the bars with the foot rest cuz other wise my ankels end up geting sore but i usually put it down even if it doesnt have the foot rests its like a seat belt its one of the easyest things you can do to save your life

Footrest i always do it, without it i usually dont just because i dont want the wind blowing down my sleeve when i reach for it, plus its like a 3-4 min ride. if the lift stops or slows down i always put it down cause that freaks me out, and half the time i put it down to lean on

BC people must be more easygoing, nobody has ever slammed the bar down on my face/nuts/legs, at least not yet...

They always call out "bar", or something like that, and give you enough time to lean back

Usually put it down when its just me or someone else, if its someother person or a little kid for sure.

Sometimes i forget or just don't.

If im by myself i keep te bar up and put my goggles up on the footrest and let em dry and shit. Just relax.

I don't really mind if the bar is up or down, sometimes I like to rest on it, and usually they will ask if I mind having it down anyhow. I've never gotten hit by the bar. It's all good.

I was on the lift one time with a family and they out the bar down on their girls leg she cried the whole way up it sucked

I dislike the bar. I'm a big guy and I want to stretch out, and they have those dividers on them. My legs are too long for the footrest anyway.

rarely put it down, but when we do. we play chicken and see who lifts its at the end, at the top. sounds gay buts pretty jokes, especially when they stop the lift cause they think its stuck

Nothing is worse than being a big guy and going on with a gaper and his kid. Holy shit. Sit and slam. Every single time I get nailed in the back of the head.

When they have foot rests I put them down all the time; but I also make sure everyone on the chair knows I'm putting it down.

one time i told a gaper not to put down the bar because i needed to stretch (do truckdrivers the whole way up). He thought i was going to sexually harass him so he jumped off the chair and broke his back. ever since that tragic day i have put the bar down, and not fucked 6 year olds going up the chairlift!

there are at T-Basin. but i love the bar, put it down, put your feet up on the rests, and just lean back and chill with your music for a couple minutes. maybe a little nap while you're at it.

i fuckin hate when i get on a fuckin high speed lift and my skis are still on the snow and some douchebag puts the bar down as quick as he can and it lands on my head, there is absolutely no need to put it down that quick, especially when its like me and 2 of my friends and a single, its not like theres some little kid o n the lift

im fine with the bar down i just hate when they put it down as fast as they can

when people put the bar down i keep my feet on the foot rest until the last second and pretend i dont here them when they yell at me and get scared. hahaha
