Gaper skis straight into trees in Breck park

People just mobbing around in Brecks park have caused more accidents than I can count. Park passes are a necessity when the features get as big as they do at Breck.

One of eheaths better posts.

I agree that parks need more attention. I saw a guy at northstar (gaper) hit the first jump that was like 55ft backslap, continue skiing into the second one on his back and hit the second jump that was 60-65 ft booter. Guy needed serious medical help.

that 360 shuffle at 1:05 was soo dope.

he got rocked. now I know what it's like to live the gaper life

Are you kidding me?

Not everyone can urban style rails when they're first starting or even rails for that matter. To my knowledge this guy didnt snake or bother anyone; he was just cruising. Why would he deserve this?

Only smug and immature doches would be obliged to argue this was "well deserved."

That looked like it hurt a lot.

Ski resorts need to understand the danger of less experienced skiers cruising around their parks like this. Yes, gapers do annoy all of us, but their riddance from parks would not only relieve us but the mountains and their medical crew as well. Purchasing park passes would generate more money to the resort and keep parks safer for everyone. Why all mountains don't have them is beyond me.

Damn.. if that kids a gaper.. I should just quit skiing now..

I feel bad for the kid.. like stated about, he wasnt snaking anyone. You have to learn somehow..

Aha don't feel too bad about not being that good. I was worse then this guy at the beginning of the year, luckily I met up with a bunch of bros and they've pushed me into actually trying shit. This is going to be the worst claimfest ever written on NS but..... this year I've gone from this kid to acctually hitting jumps without caseing/backseating the fuck out of jumps, 180's, boxslides, railslides (which are fucking so much fun, never dreamed of my bases touching a metal rail) surface swaps, switch out..... Also learned frontflips and backflips into the pool.

Seriously though get this kid a crew that knows some shit, I mean he was hardly moving heading towards the trees and had loads of time to stop, like was he looking at his shadow to see if his gopro was there?!?!? Also super lucky he hasn't been killed laying on the backside of a jump.... And yeah I don't think he was poaching anyones lines, he just doesnt know any better.

I wouldn't say it was deserved but you are definitely wrong. You don't ride off the side of rail jumps, other than being annoying as piss it fucks them up. If your just cruising and cant slide a rail you should be on a groomer not in the park.

can I just say that this could have happened on any other trail on the mtn. I mean it could have been a little side booter or roller instead of the jump to the rail... then it might be a little different

This. That guy should not have been in the park. Remember when he fell on the second jump (straight air)? He just goes up to the 3rd jump knuckle and just skis down the landing without even bothering to look to see if someone was about to hit the jump, idiots man... And yes going off the side of rail lips esp urban on just wears them down, not cool.

fuck that kid man i wouldnt have stopped. fucking faggot wasnt watching where he was going in the first place. too bad it didnt kill that stupid cunt

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying this. The kid may be a noob, but at least he's not just sitting in the landings or snaking the shit out of people. He did hit the first two jumps, and he attempted one rail feature. This is the kind of kid who will still buy a park pass, because he appears to at least have an interest in skiing park. He didn't "deserve" anything. I bet if a few people told him what was up and gave him a few pointers he wouldn't be a side booter hero and might start to progress in the park.

I broke my claviclue straight airing a jump last season ^^ Not saying I am a good park skiier though, but definetly way better then that guy. Shit just happens

This week has been the worst for gapers. March break attracts the fastest and the most dangerous beginners at Le Relais. This week I almost knocked 6 kids while their parent are encouraging them to ski behind the jump.

Just a couple of days ago, I took a hard hit on the ribs and tried to catch my breath a couple of meters from the rail. Some noob tries to slide the rail anyway, even when I wasnt far from the rail. Once I got up, I was so pissed from the park quality control, I flipped on the administration and left. This is coming from a center that grooms fresh pow because its too dangerous.

It has been 3 years our riders are pushing for a park pass. All park users agree, but the center refuses, claiming it restricts clientele. The patrollers are on our side (for once) but our voices are never heard. I believe its because of our age...

As the sport gains popularity it will continue to happen I feel. Noobs trying to be superhero noobs. I watched someone annihilate themselves on this massive closed to the public jump at bachelor a couple of years back, a prime example of this. I actually think pikupfulofsnow might have posted it back then.

This makes me mad. Why would you bitch at administration that someone tried to hit the rail while you were standing to close to it? Noob or not they were actually trying to do the rail and you got in there way.

Haha this. Unless you're seriously injured, get the fuck out of the way. You're no better than the gaper sitting in the landing at that point.
