Why does skiing have to be so gangster? I see ski edits that are Amazing but they get hate because the song isn't redman or wu-tang and i don't get it. So why does skiing now revolve around being gangster?
 
agreed. I am having an argument with a buddy. he thinks a hoodie isnt worth 80 bucks unless its like 45 inches long.
 
It's truly an interesting trend that park/freeskiing has taken. I'm not sure where/how it began but I just think it's funny. Whenever I see anyone skiing that's dressed like a thug I just laugh and think theyre doing it to be funny. Does anyone really wear that stuff and act that way and honestly believe theyre gangsta? Hahah its weird for sure
 
It's weird but just seems right. I'd say its mostly park and jib though. Freeskiing being more mountain riding/pow? I don't mind one bit though. I'm not real hood myself.
 
I hear a lot of techno type shit in ski movies.. Why does everyone have to have god damn robot ears what the hell.

i wear tall stuff because its more comfy and its my style. im not wearing that because i wanna be a G with gunz lol. ohh and btw B&E also get hate for the song they're using.
 
Over the years the look looks so stupid. I mean wearing some baggy shit and whatever is cool and looks good but it gets to a point. I think tall tees look so stupid i mean they arent water proof and i think doesnt look good
 
i would imagine that it partly began with edits using rap/hiphop. the beat is generally heavier and makes for a more exciting edit. from there kids starting listening to it while skiing and it kinda just snowballed. it can be argued that the tall/baggy fashion is totally independent of the music. there are trends in ski fashion just like there are trends in street fashion. a lot of it has to do with what the pros are doing. we all are bound to hop on the bandwagon at one point or another.

in the end everyone is entitled to their own style and music preferences. just do your thing.
 
i wear big clothes because i think it looks cool. i don't think wearing properly fitting clothes is dumb. i don't think i'm gangster, i know i'm a middle class white kid from connecticut who listens to jam bands and went to private school. i just think big clothes look better skiing.
 
i like wearing bigger things because my hero tom wallisch wers biggger clothes. he's so gangster. i want to be like him
