Game of thrones style TV show

watup ns! so i've watched all the 22 episodes of Game of thrones in 2 days as a good fanatic of lotr that I am (still can't believe I didn't here of it before then, such a great tv show...) but now that I'm really in the mood for that kind of fantasy, can't find anything else to spend my nights on. So any tvshows/even movies (but i doubt it) that has a similar feel. GO.

Interesting. I've always been a loyal Breaking Bad fan so I'd like to see how it stands up to that.

Oh btw, there must be a favourite tv show thread somewhere so if anyone knows what its called, cos can't find anything

dunno, now that i've seen the equivalent if the first two at least (i suppose) i don't want to read what i saw but I don't want to ruin the show by reading the next 3 either...maybe i will

You really cant get as good as game of thrones. But i feel you, i just watched some lord of the rings and finally saw the hobbit to fill the void between episodes.

The books are much better than the show. The show has left out alot of events and characters. The show seems to combine a couple characters from the books into one in the show. Read the books, you wont be disappointed.

yh waiting for weeks between episodes after watching 22 in 2 days is gonna hurt...might watch lotr again then, already starting to know the dialogues off by heart...

i love GOT but recently I have started watching vikings on history, obviousy not as crazy since its not hbo but really well done and still pretty sweet, plus its only had like 4 episodes so its easy to catch up on

The books are infinitely better than the show. You'd be missing out not to read them. As a fan of both the books and show, I feel like I'd have a hard time understanding some characters places in the show without the books. That's just me though. Storm of Swords (the third book) is honestly one of, if not the best books I have ever read.

Vikings is alright, wee bit cheesy and predictable so far, and not so much "fantasy" but rather norse gods/catholicism so yknow, same difference. it's got vikings and it's badass.

So im reading the books, does anyone know if the first season = first book, second season=second book etc...

yes that is pretty much how it works. Although some stuff is shifted around. the first season follows the first book pretty closely with some discrepancies here and there. The second season starts to drift off abit from the books. But for the most part, the seasons follow books moderately well. The third season is going to be following the first half of the third book, unless they change some events around

The only episode I have seen the brother of a girls was feeling up her completely naked and they were related. Incest just isn't my thing

its the same on the tits and violence part (actually exceeds GoT substantially in both) but GoT is way better in terms of plot/drama/acting and as a tv show in general.

for real! the books are SOOOOO much better than the tv show. i'm actually kind of disappointed with the tv show after reading the books. i haven't had a series of books that I sat down and read back to back to back (etc) like that in a LOOONG time.

i feel that the 3rd season is weak (so far) in comparison to the third book.

and to whoever asked if they should read the first two books since they've already seen the first two seasons....the answer is YES.... DEFINITELY. The tv show leaves out quite a bit....not enough to make it impossible to follow, but a noticeable amount.

Read them all. The second one especially, the second season had quite a few deviations from the book and the books go into even more detail. The third season has already changed a few things too, and the third book is by far the best in the series. If you were gonna skip any of the books skip the first cause the show is almost spot on

Nowhere near as good, but I turned to Merlin to get my medieval fantasy TV fix when I finished GoT. Dragons, some courtly intrigue, swords, magic. Lacks the boobies though... just watch some porn afterwards maybe?

Holy shit. 2 seasons in 2 days? I'd be more worried about getting some sunlight rather than finding another show. Took me 3 weeks to watch those

For my personnal defense I will say that i'm in paris right now and we've had shitty rainy weather for a week and even if the weather was better, all my french friends are still at school so no-one to hang out with...and I got pretty addicted. I must say I had to stop after season 1 and a few episode cos my eyes started to hurt quite a lot...lol

Haha, no need to defend yourself! If I had HBO or a computer I would have finished it muchhhhhh quicker. Just saying though, that's a ton of TV to watch .

with spartacus those bad effects are kinda supposed to be like that and the acting gets better, im telling you watch the first season and youll love it

After looking at the episode list and watching the first three episodes I have come to the realization that almost the entire season 3 will all be build up to the chaos that will ensue for season 4.

For those of us who have read the book, this could drive us crazy in anticipation. For those who have not read the books, you may be slightly disappointed with what may appear to be the lack of action in season 3.

As others have said in this thread though: To all of you who haven't read the books, I highly recommend you start now. Personally I say you can skip books 1 and 2 and just start with book 3, it really is the best book of the series. Book 4 is a little dry and I'm only a few chapters into book 5 right now, so no opinion on that yet.
