Hey, Hey! Me again with an update...
I did get a response from Freeze magazine editor in chief Micah Abrams, I'll just cut and past some of the message:
I will talk with our business development department. they have ties with
various game manufacturers through different deals TransWorld has done in the past,
and will probably have some ideas. Unfortunately, you can bet that this project has
come across some desk somewhere in video game land, and there are reasons it hasn't
been given a green light. the truth is, in spite of all the progress that we've made
in skiing, and in spite of the sort of passion and drive that's regularly on display
in the pages of FREEZE or on the newschoolers.com boards, our numbers as a market in
freeskiing remain pretty tiny compared to things like snowboarding, skateboarding,
and surfing. it's tough for a big, mainstream company like EA or Activision to get
excited about a niche sport like skiing if they don't see it having potential for a
huge crossover like Tony Hawk's game has had. In reality, games like AMP, or Kelly
Slater Pro Surfer, or Matt Hoffman BMX haven't done all that well in the
marketplace. But Tony Hawk's game has done SO well, the game manufacturers still
tinker with the format to see if they can come up with a similar hit.
The newschoolers.com petition is certainly impressive, and it's possible that the
timing is right. I'll see what those here who have experience in these thing have to
say. Is there a digital copy of the petition--just a word document of some kind
without any coding in it--available anywhere? How many signees are there currently
on it?
As you can see the ball is rolling, and I appreciate the people at FREEZE and transworld for their interest... Now here comes our part, We need to put together a non web format petition and get it to them, I'm sure you feel that they could just read it off here, but I don't expect that a game developer would take the time. So, if anyone can do this in a word, or excel format that't be awesome. I'm sure you know that it needs to be cleansed of double signs and other garbage in the petition. I've already written Harvey about the process of doing it, if if you feel you're up to it get ahold of Matt, or myself and make it happen, Thanks!

but the photoshoots are pretty uncool and unrelaistic and the goals become pretty damn repetitive, who wants to hunt for eight fucked up snowmen on every damn level? Not me.
