I took the courses that explained why, but I'll never understand why asking a random part of population represents accurately opinions. You can flip a coin 100 times and only get tails. But is that the real pattern? To me, the only real poll is the election.

^Thats not the point though, the point is it could also come out all heads...or all tails. So there really is no solid proof of asking a small sample of the american public. Sure its generally going to be pretty close but as he said the only real indicator of how people will vote is the polls themselves.

statistically speaking, the 1004 people or so that they poll at random is enough to be considered a representitve sample of the american population.
