Gagnier... Same Trick Twice!!!!!

I think the judging at this year's open was pretty bad. No doubt did Gagnier have what he needed to win but did he make a big mistake that got overlooked. In his first run (the winning run) he threw two switch right 1080's. Of course we know he can do switch right seven's as he did in his second run, but the judges had no idea. This happened last year aswell. TJ did two 270's onto rails. I think the organisers really need to make an effort to ensure that judges know what they r doing. Let's hope the x games are a little better organised.

 
the judging was just FUCKED UP, jon olson and tj did just about the exact same trick, just tj did it better, and tj got like a 90 and jon like a 60-70 it was bullshit, like simon dumont did the sickest trick should have been in the top but wasn't even a finalist. the guys doing the comentary (sp?) were getting soo pissed at the judging it was funny to listen

'The rail setup was not that good, and Charles showed his skills. Spinning on both ways, spinning off... everything. The only thing you could think was that if the rails were better, Charles would have scored so much higher.

Moving into the jump section, he showcased what true skill is. Cab Right 7, Cab Left 7 back to back. Both with extremely stylish grabs. Final trick Cab 10 true tail that was stylish even for me. I HATE rotations over 7.

Its rare to see a ski competition with decent judging, alot of the time its just snowboarders and they dont really udnerstand it

yeah the judging was strange..i was sitting up on the camera tower watching..people were pissed bout scored, but i think the large difference (which was TOO large) was due to style and really sticking landings..i dunno how they could tell (cause i couldnt) but people were getting a difference of 20+ pts on the same tricks, so they must have had some reasoning or scoring system to represent that difference..but i dunno WHAT that is

To the comment about snowboard judges, i way prefer them to ski judges at smaller comps because its generally the skiers who really dont know thier shit.

yea i had two runs, the first i fell off all the rails and did shitty, jumps were arlight... 62.5 my second run i stuck everything cept the truth rail perfect... 62.5 the judging was weird...

o and to the dude who said right cab 10s are harder... gangier spins naturally to the right so its just as hard as TJ or anybody else doing a cab 10 to the left...
