I just bought a blue iridium lens for my crowbars... supposedly

the shop didnt have just the lense in stock so they took a blue iridium lense out of one of the crowbar frames and sold it to me in a G30 replacement lense box so it would be priced correctly

but im kind of skeptical, the lense looks like persimmon in many conditions/angles and pink-ish and other conditions/angles, it doesn't really look blue... at all,

is this blue iridium of G30?

cliffnotes:crowbar lense looks like persimmon and pink-ish, not blue, is it G30 or blue iridium?

^good point, but flash goes straight through all lenses even black iridium, i might take some outside tomorrow without flash

^i just think it's a better perspective in real light instead of a bad-lit basement

They are pretty much the same lens man. Both have a light transmission index of 30 (lets 30% of light in..), have the same iridium coating, its just the lens color thats different. You prefer blue over purpleish?

If it looks like persimmon but with an iridium coating, it might be the hi-intensity persimmon lens they sold ya. Both the g30 and blue iridium lenses dont look like the orange persimmon at all, they are much darker.

the blue iridium doesnt look blue when you look thru it, it looks like a darker persimmon. the g30 has a rose hue when you look thru it. sounds like you do have the blue iridium

i know blue iridium shouldnt actually look blue when looking through it, but it does look blue from the outside which this lense does not

this lense is very persimmon-based so my guess so far is hi-persimmon

now that the pics are up, what do you guys think?

and it issssssss (drumroll) HI PERSIMMON!

the shop i bought it from is gonna let me exchange it so everything's good

thank you all for the help

i emailed oakley the pics from this thread and here's what they said...

Dear Jon,

Thank you for your recent email.

After comparing the lens to pictures on our website, that can be found here; http://oakley.com/pd/3279/17769 , it appears that the lens pictured below is a HI Persimmon not a Blue Iridium. The Blue Iridium lens would not be as transparent, as to where you can see the foam lining on the inside, and would have a mirrored coating on the outside.

Sincerely,

Holly
