I was hunting this weekend thus missed opening. . . anybody go / any sort of early season setup? I doubt it but a guy can hope...

yeah its legit for sure. there is a flat rail, down rail, barrel jib, corrugated black pipe rail, and a 20 foot jump that is super fun! they are closed until thursday but for sure is legit!

from what i hear it is... but yeah i was really suprised by the park they had already set up. it was definately the best opening day granite peak has had.

i wouldn't be suprised if it was cause most of the events up there are sponsored by dwellers and they only let snowboarders compete but I'll check it out to find for sure

usually just the dwellers ones, theres going to be a big air and rail jam this year that skiers are allowed in though...

pretty much just the ones sponsored by dwellers, but yeah i asked a friend of mine who works at dwellers and hes pretty sure its only for snowboarders. There was a comp last year held by sheperd and schaller and that was for both skiers and snowboarders, and im pretty sure they are doin it again this year so thats gonna be cool.

yeah dude it was pretty fun last year, except for the fact that the jump was tiny. Do you ski at granite alot?

sounds good.. no i dont actually i live about 2 1/2 hours away and there's like 10 hills that are closer but if there's a comp there im going.

check out www.skigranitepeak.com, i was on there the other day and I know for sure that they are having a skiers-only rail jam, i think it's in december. If it's the same rails that were set up for the boarders it should be pretty sweet, the set up looked pretty bad ass I thought. I didn't see anything on the website about a big air comp, but I know they had one last year so it wouldn't surprise me. Is it just me or is there "big park" always pretty bad? The jumps seem really hard to judge to me and It seems like I can't hit them the same speed twice...which is dangerous.

Agreed on the tranny's. Just seems like if you hit one of there jumps in the same spot, at the same speed 3 or 4 times in a row, the jump will be different each of those 3 or 4 times. As far as there LEGITness, I think there rails are awesome, a good selection and they're set up in such a way that you can just session out a decent lengthed run without stopping, but the jumps in the birch park need work. The jumps in the small park seem ok to me, but they are so small that it's hard to do any kind of big trick. I spun 7 a few times last year, but in reality if you want to get off a clean, solid spin a 3 is about as big as you could go for most of the year. TO ANYONE FROM GRANITE PEAK THAT MAY BE READING THIS: I am by no means intentionally knocking your hill or park!!! Please realize this and take into consideration our constructive criticism. Also, if there's anything I can do to help physically (I mean helping to maintain the park) please let me know as I would be more than happy to help out to make the park better, and I'm sure most Shredders on here would be happy to help. Thank you!

Sorry, what I meant was that they would have a legitimate park open before Christmas. The park has been getting better and better every year and I'm really excited to see what it's going to be like this year!

I completely agree to what you just said. If the park looks anything like the snowboarder-only rail jam looked, should be a good year...
