G.N.A.R Points list

yelled i was the best skier at the mountain to a group of 10 snowboard instructors at PC and they freaked out at me, it was great

and you guys can rate each other for how much each claim is worth

Ex:

Straight air to double ejection = -1000 GNAR points

Naked Daffy off ski patrol hut = +8000 GNAR Points

You idiots, there's a clearly defined set of rules in the last chapter of Dr. Robb Gaffney's book, Squallywood. You do not make up your own rules, that way everyone playing has the same chance to get points as everyone else playing the game, regardless who they play with.

This is definitely a good place to claim GNAR points though, I'm at 6200 after last weekend (counting only Squaw ski days).

I was on top of the mountain beatin the shit out of the ground with my poles, rode around to the easier side of the slope

Buy the book. Don't invent your own rules. That's like inventing your own rules to monopoly, everyone would be playing a different game.

Also, the book is called "Squallywood" and the majority of the game is based off skiing lines at Squaw. It's more about that than just yelling at people.

Yeah, and gnar isn't supposed to be serious. You don't sit around and play monopoly naked do you? I am sure Shane wouldn't want to see this limited to Squaw like what happened in the movie. Yes, have all the same rules, but make up your own. Say "Rons chute is 5000 points." This is just having fun with your friends not about following rules. Thats what this is preaching against!

ya spelled GWAR wrong jerkoff

Yeah the majority of the game is based around lines around Squaw, but I saw the point of the game as having fun with your friends, and poking fun at people who have an attitude. Surely that means it can be played everywhere?

Personally I am planning a gaper day game of G.N.A.R, this spring in Niseko. It's gonna be a blast.

I know the line points aren't the same but I'm pretty sure that Twoods and I were referring to the EC points- they're written, in a book, so that everyone plays by the same rules, and so that point values are uniform across the board. I mean, if I'm only getting 1000 points for skiing a line naked and you get 2000, is that because you're more naked? It's all just to have a bunch of fun, but the book is awesome to have and the rules of GNAR are just so well outlined (and well ingrained, in the minds of some of us) that I have a hard time imagining them any differently.

Fuckin awesome video....so good, i am def gonna spread this at Breck. So in the video was that Gaffney who got arrested in Mammoth? Cause that was hilarious - that ignorant security asshole had no idea who Shane McConkey was- fuck that guy.

nope that was alex cox who got arrested at mammoth. but they were both wearing the saucer boy outfit in the movie. it was gaffney when he did the pro callout

sorry for triple post ^could be wrong on that, but one thing that still needs to be done and filmed is farting in the tram at squaw and then claiming it.

No, I get that. What I mean is that if you want to play a game of GNAR at your home resort, get a bunch of people together that are going to play and assign some line scores and shit. Obviously it would be a shame to isolate it to squaw... I just don't want to see a bunch of "GNAR" edits popping up in the vid section that are just people skiing around with a gopro telling people how much better they are than each other, because there's so much more awesome in that book than just those few things in the vid.

and, if you could score bonus points in monopoly for doing it naked, I'm sure plenty of people would sit around and do it naked... haha

Next time I play risk, I'm playing it g.n.a.r. style.

"hi mom, I'm just calling you to let you know i'm about to take madagascar"
