FYI: eastAR5 is a dirty thief

really, youd pay $65 dollars for a scratched up first generation ipod mini with a bunk battery. THen why didn't you buy it when he was trying to sell it a while back?
 
Maybe he also didn't have the money. Point is, you tried to make a quick buck when obviously you don't have the money to be lending out and now you're in trouble. Also, a working ipod is worth atleast $50. It probably cost him $5-$10 to ship it. Scratches mean shit unless you're the type of person who values their life on how they look, not function, and a battery is literally $10 on ebay. You can even get an extended life battery that lasts twice as long as the original ipod batteries.
 
I do have the money to lend out, however $65 is $65 no matter how much money you have. I yeah i agree i shouldn't have lent out the money but i thought his reputation was good... guess not. And btw are you trying to buy the ipod?

i bought an ipod nano player/charger from east and he failed to state he lost the cable to power and charge the player making it totally useless as a charger and only useful as a player if you put 6 double aa batteries in it. as far as i'm concerned the kid is a shady little douche.

the real world will catch up with you soon son, once your parents stop paying for everything and you have to support yourself.
 
it took him like 8 months or a rediculous amount of time to even get his shit setteled with arem and finaly gave him a refund.

Just an FYI about eastAR5, I know 3 of my friends that have bought from him and I bought from him. Out of my friends, we all got our stuff. One of them had to make a callout thread. I have never heard of any one getting ripped off by him. It may take 3+ months but in the end you will probably get your stuff.
 
I think you and so many other people are missing the entire point of this situation. I have no thoughts on either party in this case but I do have strong feelings towards it.

65 dollars is 65 dollars. There is a difference between lending money to an aquantance and lending to a friend. With a friend, you know whether or not you'll get the money back by the quality of person your friend is. I'm the same as you I have friends that owe me quite a lot of money just from over the years of them bummin off me. But I don't care because they probably paid me back by smoking me out or giving me a ride or whatever. But I also have money out there owed to me by people who promised to pay me back, they swore. I'll never see the money again, not because I haven't asked but because there are people who are kind and trustworthy, and there are those that are not. Unfortunatly I have to learn the hard way that these people are not trustworthy and therefore not good people. I believe that a man's word is all he has.

But to get back to this situation eastAR5 is someone I've never dealt with. But NS is an online community, yes but it is also a huge extended family. I've hooked up and gotten hooked up by so many people on this site its awesome. We should be able to trust each other as fellow skier family members. It seems to me that eastAR5(adrian) wasa little slack on his part of repaying the money. Whether he's showing good faith to repay californiagrown back now because he truly is sorry that he forgot or just he got called out, we'll never know. But I'd like to think that NS is a trusting place and I can continue to trust people on this site for years to come.

Hey buddy - fuck off. First of all I had no idea this wasn't the first time he fucked around when it came to people's money. Now that I know that, I don't really support him any more. That being said, I never came out and said it was OK to steal the kid's money, I just said that I didn't think he was desperate/stupid enough to steal 65 fucking dollars and that even though it'd prolly take awhile, the money would come eventually. I know that if I was going to sacrifice my NS account I'd shoot for more than 65 bones. I was high as fuck when I made my first post in this thread, my bad, but get off my ass.

you guys are all saying oh he gave you an ipod, well guess what the other part of the deal was he got his fucking $65 back. let's see here i worked for 2 hours today cutting god damn grass to help out my cousin and made $20. so that's about 7 hours of work. why does everyone stick up for adrian, he has no fucking morals. he rips a kid off by giving him a dock with no cord, okay you can buy a cord for $5 or whatever, but it's the principle that you didn't tell him, don't care, and think that shit's okay. plus people have to wait months to get their shit from him. jesus i have no clue how adrian is even legit, you need to wake up dude the real world is gonna fucking rape your ass bud...

2. 7 hours of work for 20 bucks? YOU are getting ripped off.

3. He told the kid the problem with the dock before he sent it.

4. Ipods are worth a lot of money, it was his gift so that the kid could wait to get his money back. Doesn't that make sense? An asshole would borrow $65 and then never pay it back.

correct me if I am wrong but I believe he said that he made $20 in 2 hours meaning that he would have to work 7 hours to make $65

That having been said, it doesn't matter if he got $40, that was not the agreement, the agreement was for the entire $65, so I think that he is entitled to that
 
I don't see what friends has to do with this and I also was unaware that you knew me, but I don't have a job because I'm taking a lot of classes so $20 is a lot to me

And it doesn't even matter how much it is, if you make an agreement, you should follow it, even if its for $5

And since you have so many friends you should have no problem paypaling me $20 tonight cause its not a huge amount
 
Adrian was in a pickle - he needed money. So the thread creator lent him $65, and Adrian sent him a non-functioning iPod as collateral (or to keep, not sure). So far, he has repaid $40 of the $65, but the thread creator is unhappy. Some people argue that $40 and an iPod is enough, while others feel that Adrian should pay the full amount, and that it is the principle of his actions not the money.

look, im not trying to argue with you im just saying that I think if they made an agreement it should be followed thru on, I'm saying adrian is a dirty theif, i just think that if thats what they agreed upon then he should just give him the rest of the money
