FWQ/IFSA Championship Kirkwood?

Anyone gonna be up there watching? A few of my buddies and myself were gonna head that way for a day or two and do a mixture of skiing/watching the competition/drinking beers. If anyone will be up there or lives in the area and would like to join let me know!

Dates are April 3rd to April 6th: haven't decided which specific days we are going yet

Also, whether watching from home or going, anyone have any thoughts on competitors or the terrain this year? Should be a really sick one with all the snow, lots of big jumps.

Roger i might take a gander.

Hell yeah!

Myself and a few friends have a place in Tahoe Valley (all the reasonably priced placed at Kirk were sold out), but we'll be out there Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

Probably gonna be riding mostly but will definitely check the comp out. Maybe we'll see you out there?

Are there even places by Kirkwood to stay. It's usually Meyers or south lake for a place to stay close by.

For sure. Although i like riding there when not busy. So might avoid on the weekend. Def going to get some spring laps in asap.

There are rooms in the lodges (nice, but kind of expensive)

There are also cabins you can rent through airbnb. A few are actually decently priced if you go in on them with multiple people, but they fill up quick on the weekends it would seem haha (I usually just crash at a friends place in South Lake)

I normally try to go on weekdays as well, but it has me going up solo a lot haha. So, the few times my friends with less flexible work schedules get some days in a row off, I'll compromise a bit so I can ride with them.

Plus when I was there last Thursday, Carson Spur coming from the bay was closed because the storm combined with spring conditions caused snow slides. Crossing my fingers that'll be the case this weekend with this storm: less crowds :D
