Future of resort skiing

With riseing lift ticket prices and Vail buying resort after resort what is the future of being able to buy a 60$ lift ticket, will ski areas only be full of rich people on vacation because there the only people who can afford the multi hundred dollar lift ticket

Just buy a pass and try to make per unit cost as low as you can by skiing as much as you can. You'll be fine.

Also the pastime of skiing is already full of rich people on vacation.

Most things follow the same model. You can get a season pass to six flags for what 2-3 trips would cost. Same with a water park. Same with a museum.

Epic/Ikon passes are only cheap in the context that some of the resorts used to charge 2k/year for adults but even before the takeovers you could get deals if you weren’t an old.

I was good for another 8 years of under 30 at Stowe because I put 9 and not 8 on my form.

Your tickets are only $60? Most places I've seen are $80-$100+

Well I geuss there is a balance because the higher the prices the less people who show. to ski companies its all just Stats they see that even tho people complain about the prices enough people show up that are willing to pay that they still make big profits

Coronavirus will never go away, resort skiing is dead

You should probably just stay home for a few years. Maybe move in to mom's basement if you haven't already?

I'll have your fun for you.

Just gonna have to wait and see what resorts do for pricing next year after all of this, We are in the midst of a pandemic that royally buttfucked every industry almost including the tourism and service industries which ski resorts lie in so you just gotta chill and see. I already got pass offers and pricing for next season from Snowbird and other resorts before the virus shutdown and prices definitely went up, Ikon seems like it went up a little bit next season as well. Could get decently cheap for a while or more expensive or just stay the same really. Resorts could drop prices down just to get skier numbers back up or something.
