i was browsing ontario regional forums and a saw soo many funny ski patrol stories. if you've had any funny ski patrol encounters share them with NS,.....
 
we were building a BC booter and a patroller comes along (standard duty in the backcountry) and was like "well guys, I can't really allow you guys to do this..." and we argued for a bit and he was like "well if you throw a back you can build it" . So I did, and he was like ZOMG NO WAI (not really but whatever) and he hit the jump with us for about an hour before he was like "ah shit I gotta go to groomer duty this sucks" and it was cool. He was decently good too, he was throwing 3 mutes and stuff.
 
Was blazing in the back country and two ski partols came. They toked up with us, helped us build a booter then showed us all up throwin cork 9s off it.
 
yea man. i just recently completed the OEC course to become a ski patroller. im seriously broke so i figured id try it to ski for free. ive heard some horror stories about power crazed patrollers, but thankfully that isnt the case with my mountain. the patrollers all seem pretty chill, before i became a patroller i got caught rope ducking a few times and never got in any trouble, just "be carefuls". hope it works out for me.
 
it's funny if you know our mountain's policy on jump-building (normally pass stripping or 1 warning then a stripping). Only natural jumps are allowed.
 
my buds and I were building a kicker at the local mountain. A patrol woman saw us and drove over on her snow sled. She was pissed we were making a jump and proceeded to run it over withher snowmobile and drive off. The snow kinda sucked but the sled packed it down quite nicely, making the kicker pretty decent. We had a good time hitting that jump and then hiking back up. I never got a chance to thank her.
 
They tell my brother and my friend to stop skiing backwards all the time but they have never mentioned it to me and I do it like 40% of teh time.
 
haha! yeah i love skiing switch and all the noobs are going forwards and i am passin um up, none of the ski patrollers at my mountains tell me to stop skiing switch
